By the way - has anyone given an educated statement of the various penalties these young men could possibly receive under Dutch/Aruban law - ie. for something like a manslaughter / accidental death conviction.

The attorney that Greta interviewed says 20 to life...no death penalty.

On the earlier question about accidental death.

If the guys would just tell the family where the body is, then I would support a mild punishment.

There is no reason to ruin three kids lives and it won't bring Nat back.  By that I mean she fell and hit her head or something like that.  Perhaps a year in jail and then probation for obstruction.

If they gave her drugs without her knowing and od's then a longer sentence--five years, but not the life mentoned for murder.

I heard this on some station today.


I think that these are basically good kids and they will punish themselves for the rest of their lives IF they brought about her death.

Or MBHS' were doing drugs, or drugged her. I know improbable. Cause these guys were perfect.

Its possible, but why drug someone and then let them ride off with someone else, kind of spoils the plan dont you think?

And why would the three lie about it if they didn't have anything to do with the death?

Reports from Aruban bloggers was that Croes was supplying Deepak with rufies (ruphynol) and it was Deepak that drugged Natalee. Was the plan to gang rape her? Reports were that she died from the drugs.

I think we may be seeing on the board why we are not hearing on here what the rumors out of aruba are. The island things there is more here than meets the eye and that possibly the family has more information.

That's seems like one of the more likely possibilities to me.  It would certainly explain why steve is corroborating their story (assuming cnn is right).

how can you rule it an accident unless you have either the body or a witnesse's statement?

all we have now is changing stories..

when you have changing stories, something is being hidden...

besides, if its an accident, why not  bring her to the hospital or polis station right away?????

HOLY SHIT I've missed out!  So the 3 guys are being interrogated together and Joran says that Deepak picked him up and Deepak says, "why are you lying".  Joran:  "Oh yeah, Satish picked me up."  Okay....then what?  Why do we only get little bits of info that make us go CRAZY???
