I am not saying that I blame the Twittys for taking that approach - however that kind of direct approach especially at that hour rarely works - I know the few times I have been confrontational with people it only blows off steam but does not solve anything.

And I would say this until my dying day - I would never advise anyone in in a situation like this to ever speak about legal things without an attorney - sorry personal experience speaking!!

OK I have not taken sides so to speak, but By God if this was my daughter I guess I would be considered a cowgirl, because I would leave no stone unturned. If this was my son, and I have one who is in Iraq as we speak, I would ORDER him to talk to the parents of a girl who came to my door in the middle of the night saying he was the last known person with her. I would MAKE him tell what he knew.......no if ands or buts, and if it incriminated him, then I would deal with that then.[/quote]

Amen to that ..the rule is quite simple....always be there to defend your children if they are wronged unrightfully..but make them take their licks if they are wrong..My son is a LCL in th US MARINES..and he always says..when I was growing up..I would rather be  punished for something I did wrong by someone else....than have to appear in frony of Judge MOM!!! LOL Parenthood is not for WIMPS!!!

i think jug's recollection of the time is a little off.  i recognize he knows best but did we not have 1-1:30 am eta van der sloot residence?

Jug stated 3:30 a.m. was the first time that they went to the VDS home.

How much clearer can she be when she says "I want my daughter NOW"
She knows that "something bad happened" to Natalee and she knows that the 3 men in the car know exactly what happened and where.  She is caught up in a nightmare of changing stories, an archaic justice system that anyone with money, connections or a brain can circumvent,  the colonial racist class structure, a sexist mentality that blames the female victim and a country whose collective ego must be stroked.  With all this lunacy around her, she still is the sharpest thinker and the most effective doer and is the class act of this sorry situation.

sometimes even a tantrum will not produce the desired results. cops are not magicians.  they have to follow the rules.  they need leads and evidence.  they can do only what they can do.  chandra levy's mother wanted her daughter too. it was not possible for a year in Washington DC.    we have no certainty that the police are on the right track in Aruba and have no evidence that it is for any of the reasons you cite. people disappear.  they are not always found nor their disappearance explained.

They didn't have three boys that were with were (eye witnesses) that could tell what happened?

Just to remind ya, If Urine was not quilty of something, from first knowledge of Nat missing (when her folks came up) he would have not started with ANY LIESAT ALL!  Why!  But he showed guilt from start to present.

One more thing!  His only def is he left her w' bros.  NO WAY!  NO def. there. Think about it!

Do you think that Natalee would have looked twice at either of the Kalpoe brothers?  They only way there could have been any physical interaction would have been if drugs were involved and against her will.

I have been comforted by the fact that the waters surrounding Aruba are so crystal clear.  Visibility is anywhere from 30 meters to 100 meters, depending on where I've read and which part.

I know from scuba diving, that you can easily see objects on the bottom to 100 feet, even snorkeling on the surface, under those conditions.  I believe that most waters were searched, were they not, by divers, both professional and amateur?

I've had a hard time finding tidal info for that day--if it has been posted somewhere, can a Monkey point me to it or just quote it for me?  The experts on the island say that anywhere off of the SW part of the island, around the hotels and the beaches in question, would've been brought right back onshore.

I believe there is a protective barrier reef along there, too, isn't there?  I don't believe the shark stories, as far as one feeding and gathering place near the lighthouse, but if someone has seen some proof of it, let us know.  All the Islander old-timers say that was a long time ago, when the boucherie was there, or a slaughterhouse.  What's truth, what's fiction?

Still spooky, though, that the boys, or possibly only Deepak, even brought up "looking at the sharks" in the nighttime, as something Natalee wanted to do--fiction or not.  It's top of mind and that's important.

I feel safe at this time keeping the idea of burial at sea way down on my list of possibilities, even though it *is* the most obvious one.

I still think Joran was in the house, not out that night.  Dad concocted any story he could to get the people away from the house.

Wild goose chase--off to Winham.  When they get back Joran is not alone.

I dont know how I want her to act -but Laci 's mom and family by now were not that upbeat - they were teary eyed and weepy - her father certainly seemed like that earlier today - I mean I just find it odd that she is so perky - perky people always bother me - Joran's mother is crying and Beth is joking and perky? Now, that does not mean that I think they are guilty of anything it just seems odd!

Vis there is 30 to 100 feet, not meters.  There is often a steady current around the Marriott/HI that moves steadily towards Venezula.  I've spent at least 24 hours underwater in that area of Aruba.  Have never seen a shark in those waters.  Quite rare I'm told.

so in one interview Daddy VDS cannot remember whether he woke Joran up for school or if he rode the bus or was late or anything about that morning.

but in the interview with Natalee's stepdad he states when his AL friends went to the school to post flyers, Joran, dad and headmaster all were in office (correct?) and when the AL friends ask if Joran was at school, the headmaster looks it up and says "yes" and then states "remember, Joran was late...you brought him to school"

Am I hearing things??

I did not hear that Dad was at school, but probably need to wait for the interview to be uploaded to make sure.

If she drowned where is the body?

If she drown, in the ocean, you think Joran is going to swim back out, at night, and pull the body in?

Hmm.  If the moon is high, you could see well enough (if it wasn't too deep) to pull someone back in.  I used to night dive in Caribbean without a dive mag (light) so it's feasible. But apparantly maybe he didn't or couldn't  find her if that's the way it happened....

Where are her clothes then? I highly doubt she went swimming in a denim skirt, shoes, etc.  IF that were the story (not that I think it is) then at best he could still be charged with concealing evidence, but an accidental drowning shouldn't cause him concern in a court of law.

Things I remember that may not  have seen addressed by y'all.

The  1st explanation of events we heard--the boys stated when they
took Natalee back to the Holiday Inn

      1.   "she didn't want to get out" of the car.

      2.    She didn't want  anyone  to help her.

      3.    She refused help from her Dutch escort/friend ??

      4.    She stumbled.

Then they saw a security guard in a black shirt/pants with a walkie
        talkie help her/talk to her.

This puts all 3 guys dropping her off.

I enjoy reading all of your opinions.
