I promised a few monkeys that I would post some of my poetry.  Remember now that these were written years ago.  I'm a little wiser now!  haha

V

In the past year of loving you
I've given you all I have to give,
So in the year to come I've nothing left to give anyone else.
For now that you're gone you've taken so much of me with you that I
   have nothing but emptiness left.

A Summer Love

A summer love is an accident.  Something that just happened because you were in the right place at the right time.

It's a soft summer breeze that tells you to be careful but you just don't want to listen.

It's roses, sunshine and happiness.  Happiness that lasts even after the roses wilt.  But sunshine that goes on being there after the happiness is gone.

Clear summer nights with thousands of stars that look down on you and smile at your joy.

That very special smile, the first kiss and thinking you'll absolutely die if he doesn't kiss you again!

It's merry-go-rounds and swings that you go so high that you can almost touch the clouds.  But you really don't have to swing to reach one.

Cherishing every moment because they seem to go by so fast.

A special song and a mind full of memories that no one can take away from you.

The end of summer and the end of a love that you thought was meant to be but he didn't have the same idea.

A summer love is the joy of your memories, the hurt of the end and the hope for tomorrow.

My Prayer

My dear God, to thee I pray
That you will show me the way
To live my life day by day,
In a kind and loving way.

Dear God, teach me right from wrong,
Though the way may be long.
Help me learn to conquer sin,
So eternal life I can win.

Help me to treat my fellowman
As kind and loving as I can.
So that when this life is through,
I can com and live with you.

Your World and Mine

I'll go back to my world
And you go back to yours.
I'll make it somehow all alone
Somehow I will endure
The pain, the sorrow and the hurt
That you will leave behind
Put me out of your world,
I'll put you out of mine.
I was happy for a while
My life was full of joy
But now it's all over
My heart is not a toy.
You never really loved me.
At first that didn't matter,
I could accept the bits and pieces
But now it makes me sadder
Each time I see your face
To know that what we had together
Was just a passing fling to you
And that you'll love me never.
The times that I am with you
The night turns into day
It hurts to hold a piece of heaven
And have it jerked away.
I'd rather that you leave me
So i can start again
Just maybe I can make it
Maybe my heart will mend.
But no matter where you go
I'll have a part of you
Always locked inside my heart,
Because there's nothiing I can do
About the memory of the love
That you have left behind.
No amount of time or love
Can erase you from my mind.
But remember when you go
And travel this world through
That you will never be alone
For my heart will leave with you.

Casa, thank you for sharing those with us.  They are truly beautiful and you really do have a talent for expressing something just the perfect way.  I'll look forward to more if you would like to post them.

Thank you, tidycat.  I have more and will post if y'all are interested in reading them.  My kids have often told me that I should see about publishing them but I never have.  I enjoy them because I lived them but I have never thought anyone else would be interested in them.  Y'all really make me feel good! Very Happy

Cass, that was really nice.  Thank you for sharing.  I always love reading what others write.  There is a lot of "undiscovered" talent lurking about, you should try to get a little book of poetry published.

Your poetry is exquisite. I love "V" and "My Prayer."  My favorite is "Your World and Mine."

I would love to read more - poetry - stories - whatever!

Hi the cuz!  I know what you mean about this happening all the time.  Seemed to happen to me a lot when I was a teenager!  I have lots more sad poetry too.  I seemed to do my best work when I thought I was devastated and heartbroken!  lol

Thank you, Louise!  You are too sweet.  I have lots more poetry and will post if y'all are interested.  I don't want to push it on anyone though.  I would love to read things that others have written!  I know there is lots of talent here!

Yes, I would love to hear it, Casa.

The only things I have posted here that I have written are

SPRING IN THE WINTER OF OUR LIVES
LETTER TO MY SONS
SILLY START
and
LASAGNA GARDENING

It is easy to see I am a gardener.  SILLY START IS TOO LONG TO READ, but I work on it from time to time.  I am in a slump right now.  I know you know about that.
