Thank you grace-land.

You're welcome, Bearlyhere.
Hopefully, there will be swift justice for sweet Nicole.

Her cute little face says "naive" to me.  That part of her was taken advantage of.  Add in the relentless bullying and that drove her to look for someone who cared.  She was not ready for what happened, I don't think it even crossed her mind.

It makes you wonder what is important when the school now has many counselors helping those who are upset by her death, even the bullies.  This girl could not get anyone to help her to save her life.  They should have helped her when she asked for help, then there would be no dead girl to be crying about.  Priorities?  Think about it.

Update: Funeral Services Held for Nicole Lovell
By Danner Evans |Thursday, February 4th 2016

The family and friends of Nicole Lovell laid the 13 year old girl to rest Thursday in Blacksburg.

Following the funeral there was a graveside burial in Blacksburg.

ABC 13 has learned Lovell's funeral expenses were covered. The Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney's office says they help through their victim witness program.

They say it's too early in the process to have all of the paperwork needed to complete the application. But the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund, based in Richmond will help them cover expenses.

A Memorial Fund has also been set up for Nicole at the National Bank of Blacksburg. We're told the Police Department had a hand in setting that up in Nicole's memory.

Donations will be used for expenses and any left-over funds will start a scholarship fund in Nicole's name.

If you want to contribute you can at any National Bank of Blacksburg location.

Or you can send your contribution to:

Commonwealth’s Attorney: Natalie Keepers wanted to be part of “something secret and special” in Lovell murder
Published: February 4, 2016, 12:23 pm  |  Updated: February 4, 2016, 7:15 pm

CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) — A bond request was denied for Natalie Keepers Thursday after Commonwealth’s Attorney Mary Pettitt argued Keepers “wanted to be part of something secret and special” when she planned to kill and later hide the body of 13-year-old Nicole Lovell.

Pettitt said 19-year-old Keepers was involved right from the beginning with 18-year-old David Eisenhauer and participated in a number of steps up to and after Lovell’s death. “She killed someone she never even met.”

Keepers and Eisenhauer, both Virginia Tech students, bounced ideas off of each other at the Cook Out restaurant in Blacksburg, Pettitt said during the hearing. That included plans to take her “to a remote location under the guise of a date” and cutting her throat, Pettitt said.

In presenting evidence, Pettitt said investigators checked Lovell’s email, social media and chat applications after receiving an emergency 911 call reporting Nicole missing at 6:30 am on the morning of January 27. Her door had been barricaded, a window slightly open and her Minion character blanket and cell phone were missing.

A review of Lovell’s accounts showed her last message was with an account belonging to Eisenhauer, Pettitt said.

Eisenhauer was taken to the Blacksburg Police Department on January 30, where he denied involvement but admitted to communicating with Lovell and driving to her house on or about the time of the last message, received at 12:39 a.m. on January 27. He said he saw Lovell come out of her window at her Lantern Ridge apartment, gave her a “side hug” and returned to Virginia Tech to see his close friend, Keepers, Pettitt explained.

Police found Keepers in her boyfriend’s room. There, she agreed to go in for questioning and voluntarily consented to a search of her cellphone where it was discovered she sent a message to Eisenhauer stating, “POLICE.”

Keepers claimed she did not kill Lovell but did help load her body into the trunk of Eisenhauer’s Lexus. The two had previously bought a shovel and picked out a secluded location on Craig Creek Road to dump the body.

The two also went to a Walmart near Wytheville to buy cleaning supplies, with cash, Pettitt said. Items belonging to the victim, including Lovell’s minion blanket, were found in Keepers dorm room in a suitcase, she said.

On January 31st, Pettitt says, police believed Keepers was holding back information. She was emotional, they said and stated, “I don’t want to go to jail.”

Keepers took the stand during her bond hearing, explaining her mental health issues, including thoughts of suicide in eighth and ninth grade. She said it was during that time her parents got her involved in a Christian Counseling Center program in Columbia, Maryland where she learned “techniques to reduce stress.”

Commonwealth's Attorney: "They Decided They Should Cut Nicole Lovell's Throat"
By Emily-Erin Robinson, Associated Press |Thursday, February 4th 2016

UPDATE 12:09 p.m. -

Christiansburg, VA - One of the two Virginia Tech students charged in connection to 13-year-old Nicole Lovell has been denied bond.

Natalie Keepers appeared in court on Thursday.

During the hearing, Commonwealth's attorney Mary Pettitt offered up a timeline of events.

Pettitt says Keepers and David Eisenhauer, the other suspect, began to have conversations planning murder in early January. Keepers told police, "we sat down and bounced around ideas of how to kill Nicole." Pettitt says they then decided they should cut Lovell's throat.

On January 26th, Keepers and Eisenhauer went to a cookout in Blackburg, drove by Lovell's house, went to Christiansburg to buy a shovel, and picked out a location to kill her, according to the Commonwealth's Attorney. Records show that Eisenhauer and Lovell were communicating on January 26th into the 27th.

On the 27th at 6:30 a.m., police received a 911 call saying Lovell's door was barricaded and her windows were open. Also, her cell phone and blanket were missing. Police immediately called the FBI, who began to track Lovell's social media activity.

On the 30th, they obtained a search warrant for Eisenhauer's dorm room. They questioned Eisenhauer and he said that, "he talked to Nicole on the 27th, drove to her house, but did not kidnap her."

While searching his dorm, police found a text from Keepers saying, "POLICE." They began to question Keepers, who complied. According to Pettitt, Keepers said she was "excited to be a part of something secret."

Keepers told police that she and Eisenhauer drove down Craig Creek Road, where she helped Eisenhauer load the body into the back of his Lexus. Then, they drove to the Walmart in Wytheville to buy cleaning supplies and kept driving to North Carolina," according to Pettitt.

On January 30th, Nicole's body was found. On January 31st, Keepers signed a Miranda Waiver.

Tim and Sara Keepers spoke during the hearing for 19-year-old Natalie Keepers. Tim Keepers teared up as he told the judge his daughter wanted to follow in his footsteps as an aerospace engineer.

'She would not have gone out without a fight': Father of 13-year-old girl 'murdered by Virginia Tech students in sadistic pre-planned crime speak out'

The father of the 13-year-old Virginia girl whose gruesome murder made headlines last week is speaking out about his theories for how one of the suspects may have gotten a scar on her face.

Virginia Tech freshmen David Eisenhauer, 18, and Natalie Keepers, 19, have been arrested in connection to the stabbing murder of Nicole Lovell, 13, who disappeared after allegedly sneaking out of her home to meet Eisenhauer for a date on January 27.

While Keepers has only been charged with being an accessory to the murder, David Lovell voiced his belief that she may have been there when Eisenhauer killed his daughter, judging by a scratch on the engineering student's face.

In mourning: David Lovell, father of murdered Virginia teen Nicole Lovell, appeared on Dr Phil to speak about the gruesome crime. The full segment is set to air on Wednesday

'I bet she fought like a wildcat. She's my kid,' David Lovell told Dr Phil in a segment set to air on Wednesday. 'The Keepers girl, in her mug shot, looks like she has a scar. I'm pretty sure that would have been my daughter trying to fight back. She would not have gone out without a fight.'

Mr Lovell also revealed that he knew about his daughter's 'inappropriate' online communications with older men and said that she had been grounded from all social media just before her tragic death.

Nicole Lovell’s father appears on Dr. Phil

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) — David Lovell talked a lot about his daughter’s use of social media, about being bullied, and about the last time he saw his daughter alive as he addressed a nationwide audience on the Dr. Phil show Wednesday.

David Lovell told Dr. Phil the last time he saw his daughter Nicole was December 19th. She disappeared nearly six weeks later on January 27. Nicole’s mother, Tammy called him as soon as she was missing, he said. Lovell told the talk show host he puts a lot of blame on himself.

“I have so many regrets,” Lovell said.  “I wasn’t there for her when she needed me. There’s no way to roll back the time.”

During his appearance, Lovell speculated on any possible motives suspects David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers could have had and he mentioned one graphic detail related to his daughter’s killing. During Keepers’ bond hearing, prosecutors released that Keepers and Eisenhauer plotted to take 13-year-old Nicole to a remote location and “cut her throat” when they bounced ideas of each other in early January.

“I know her throat was not cut,” Lovell said. “But I do know she was stabbed to death.”

He also described how his daughter was bullied, made fun of for her tracheotomy scar, he said and the impact it had on the 13-year-old.

Father of slain Virginia 13-year-old Nicole Lovell says authorities forgot to tell him about his daughter’s death before telling reporters

He learned about his 13-year-old daughter’s death not from cops but while watching TV.

In an emotional “Dr. Phil” episode that aired Wednesday, David Lovell said authorities forgot to tell him before they informed reporters that the remains of missing teen Nicole Lovell had been found about a hundred miles away from her Virginia home a few days after she vanished.

The grieving dad said cops have since confirmed his daughter was stabbed to death, but they have not detailed a motive for the senseless slaying or whether Nicole was sexually assaulted by murder suspect David Eisenhauer, an undergraduate at Virginia Tech.

Friend says slain Va. teen talked of running away with alleged killer

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The 13-year-old Virginia girl who was killed after climbing out of her bedroom window talked of running away and starting a family with the man now charged in her slaying, a friend and classmate of the seventh-grader said.

Natasha Bryant told The Washington Post that Nicole Lovell said Virginia Tech engineering student David Eisenhauer, 18, was her boyfriend. She said Nicole described Eisenhauer as "funny and really nice" shortly before her Jan. 27 disappearance in Blacksburg.

Search warrants sealed as Nicole Lovell death investigation continues
Posted: Wednesday, February 17, 2016 6:30 pm

CHRISTIANSBURG — Search warrants executed by police in the death of Nicole Lovell have been sealed by a judge, as the prosecutor in the case says she will continue to consider whether evidence could warrant a capital murder charge.

The warrants, which in Virginia are public documents by default, often contain many of the earliest details that seep out of criminal investigations.

Instead, documents that may contain key details of the prosecution’s evidence against David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers were sealed on Feb. 1 “due to the fact that the investigation is ongoing,” according to the judge’s order.

Montgomery County Commonwealth’s Attorney Mary Pettitt said she expects the warrants to remain sealed from public view for the duration of case.

Nicole Lovell case: Eisenhauer hires Roanoke lawyers
Posted: Monday, February 22, 2016 2:34 pm

CHRISTIANSBURG — David Edmond Eisenhauer has hired a pair of Roanoke attorneys with experience with high-profile cases as he faces charges he abducted and murdered 13-year-old Nicole Lovell last month.

Eisenhauer replaced his court-appointed attorney, Chris Tuck, with lawyers John Lichtenstein and Anthony “Tony” Anderson, according to a court order signed on Feb. 19.

Lichtenstein has been involved with other closely watched cases, including the lawsuit Virginia Sen. Creigh Deeds filed against the state earlier this year in relation to his son’s death. Anderson, meanwhile, was one of the defense attorneys who represented William Morva for years after he was sentenced to death for a 2006 double homicide in Montgomery County.

Hearings rescheduled for Virginia Tech students from Howard County charged in girl's death
March 30, 2016, 7:48 PM

Preliminary hearings have been rescheduled for May in cases against two college students from Howard County accused of luring a 13-year-old Virginia girl from her home and killing her.

The hearings will begin 9 a.m. May 20 in Montgomery County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court near Blacksburg, Va., Commonwealth Attorney Mary Pettitt said in a statement Wednesday. In Virginia, cases in which the victim is a child begin in juvenile court.

The hearings had been scheduled for March 28. Last week, however, Pettitt said the defense attorneys requested more time to prepare. Also, prosecutors had not received a medical examiner's report on the girl's death, she said in a statement.

The hearings were postponed about two months until May.

Nicole Lovell case: Defense lawyers request their own photo access
Posted: Thursday, April 14, 2016 5:00 pm |  Updated: 5:01 pm, Thu Apr 14, 2016.

CHRISTIANSBURG — Lawyers for one of the defendants in the Nicole Lovell case made an unusual request on Thursday, asking a judge to allow their own cameras in the courtroom during an upcoming hearing.

Montgomery County Commonwealth’s Attorney Mary Pettit told The Roanoke Times her office has no problem with a stenographer and audio equipment being used to keep a record of what is said — as is traditional for these kinds of proceedings. But video equipment is a different story.

The request by a defendant to video tape a criminal proceeding is unusual,” Pettit wrote in an email. “We were unable to locate any example of that being done in a criminal case in Virginia.”

Kris Olin, one of the lawyers for Natalie Keepers, said they want to film the May 20 preliminary hearing so they could use the “video transcript” to point out possible inconsistencies in witness testimony at a later date.

County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge Robert Viar declined to rule on the matter on Thursday, saying he needed more time to review the lawyers’ arguments.

The Roanoke Times has also requested photo access in the case, but the judge had not ruled on the newspaper’s motion as of Thursday afternoon.

Keepers appeared in court on Thursday, stone-faced and donning an orange jumpsuit. She didn’t speak during the short hearing, as Lovell’s and Keeper’s mothers watched from opposite sides of the gallery.

Keepers and her co-defendant, David Eisenhauer, 20, are scheduled to make their next court appearance at a preliminary hearing on May 20. A judge will likely decide then if there’s enough evidence to continue with the case.

Cops: Suspect in Va. girl's murder a "sociopath in training"

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- A former Virginia Tech student charged in the kidnap-slaying of a 13-year-old girl called her co-defendant a "sociopath" and referred to herself as a "sociopath in training" a police detective testified Friday.

Also, prosecutors in the case against David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers introduced text messages taken from Eisenhauer's cellphone speculating about the body never being found and talking about engaging in "overkill."

Eisenhauer, 18, is charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder. Keepers, 19, charged with being an accessory to kidnapping and murder and with helping hide the body of Nicole Lovell, a 7th grader who authorities say sneaked out her window early one morning last January to rendezvous with the older teens.

Montgomery County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge Robert Viar Jr. found probable cause to send the case to a grand jury, which will meet in late July to determine whether the two former college students from Maryland should be indicted.
