Authorities and locals of a rural Tennessee community continue to search the woods for a toddler named Noah after he disappeared two days ago.

More than 500 community members of Pinson, Tenn., sprang into action to search the 600-acre wooded area where 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin went missing during a walk with his 4-year-old sister and his grandmother

Quote
The toddler's disappearance triggered a huge community outpouring as hundreds of people volunteered to help look for Noah.

Locals have started a social media campaign with the hashtag #FindNoah.

The volunteers filled the Chester County Sheriff’s department, outfitted themselves with reflective vests and filled busses transporting them to the woods where Noah was last seen.

“The big news right now is that Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver has opened the floodgates and let everybody in,” Mapes said.

The search for Noah is led by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation who asked residents to pitch in by searching their properties for Noah.

Hundreds volunteer for third day of searching for Tennessee two-year old who wandered away from his grandmother
JANUARY 16, 2016

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) – Officials are continuing to search for a missing two-year-old boy in West Tennessee who wandered away from his grandmother.

Noah Chamberlin has been missing since Thursday afternoon while walking in the woods in the Pinson community with his grandmother and sister.

The Jackson Sun reports the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has set up a command post at the Pinson Fire Station to assist in the search.

More than 300 volunteers showed up Friday night to aid in the search but no sign of the boy was found and it was called off around midnight.

Tom Mapes, public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (TN), says searchers have found no clothing, footprints or blood. Search dogs have not been able to pick up a scent.

The Jackson Sun also reported Saturday night that the Chester County Sheriff says this is still a rescue operation. The sheriff also insisted that foul play is not currently suspected. The sheriff says volunteers will be accepted through seven Sunday morning, but after that, the search will be law enforcement only.

I also want to remind everyone, if you see something online that is not from either me or the authorities, DO NOT READ! There are so many rumors going around that its hard to keep the information straight, I'm getting my information straight from them. Family, please I know its hard not to look for information. I have done it too, on the different news sites and pages. Please stay off these sites as they have been misreporting information.

Update:
The family and I have been up for a little bit now, and just waiting to hear from someone about what exactly is going on at this point. I will post an update as soon as possible. For those who want to help, but are not able to come and help search or just doesn't know what to do, please pray. If you are wanting to do more, one of Jacob's co-workers has set up a GoFundMe page for the family to help with bills, because that and income are the last thing on their minds at the moment. Any amount is blessing, and know that that we are extremely thankful for everything!

Tennessee Authorities Search for Noah Chamberlin, 2-Year-Old Missing for Days
by CASSANDRA VINOGRAD, CHRISTOPER ESSNER and GEMMA DICASIMIRRO

Law-enforcement officials were renewing their search early Sunday for a 2-year-old boy who disappeared in the Tennessee woods.

Noah Chamberlin has been missing since Thursday afternoon. He disappeared while hiking with his grandmother and sister in the woods near his family's home in Pinson, Tennessee.

Authorities have "no reason" to believe foul play was involved, Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver told NBC station WMCA.

"It is a search and rescue mission," Weaver added. "We have total faith that we're going to find Noah and we're going to bring him home safe."

Chester Co. Sheriff requests citizen volunteers in search for Noah Chamberlin
January 17, 2016

INSON, Tenn. — Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver made a very brief statement to the media at 4 p.m., Sunday.  He said the search continues for Noah Chamberlin, 2, of Pinson.

Weaver also asked for citizens to once again help in the search effort along Short Road in Pinson.  He said volunteers should gather at the Old Pinson School starting at 6 p.m.  Please, dress for below freezing temperatures.

The toddler hasn’t been seen since Thursday around 1:30 p.m.  According to the sheriff’s department, Noah was on a walk with his grandmother and 4-year-old sister near their home.

Those who live in the area of the search are asked to search their personal property, sheds, abandoned cars or any areas where Noah could have hidden.

No sign of Noah at 72 hour mark; toddler last seen Thursday
January 17, 2016 by Bethany Thompson

PINSON, Tenn.—More than 200 emergency responders are searching the woods where two-year-old Noah Israel Chamberlin was last seen on Thursday around 1:30 P.M.

It has been around 72 hours since the toddler went missing after authorities say his grandmother says they were in the woods behind the house playing with his four-year-old sister.

Tom Mapes with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said in a brief with the media Sunday morning that the Chester County Sheriff’s Office requested help from across the state from law enforcement, first responders, and other trained personnel.

Mapes said that a pack of search and rescue dogs from Florida arrived Sunday morning to assist in the search.

On the fourth day of the search Mapes says they are still confident this is a search and rescue mission.

He says the rain on Thursday night has hindered their ability to track a scent or trail of Noah. The terrain has also been causing multiple problems for law enforcement and volunteers with many reports of injuries of the searchers.

When asked about deer cameras, Mapes denied there was anything useful on the cameras and is currently checking to see if there was any footage of the family on them.

Mapes said the family has been active in the search which is why they have not issued a statement to the media about the search for Noah.

In a press conference on Saturday night with the Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver he said,”We have total faith we’re going to find Noah and bring Noah home safe.”

Sheriff Weaver reiterated Saturday night that he does not believe there is anything criminal about Noah’s disappearance. When the Sheriff was asked about the grandmother’s account of what happened Thursday, Weaver said he believes her and the entire family is cooperating in the search.

Weaver is also discouraging the public to start or listen to rumors spread on social media and to rely on information directly from the department.

Search for Noah continues into fourth night
January 17, 2016

PINSON — For the fourth night in a row hundreds of people bundled up with gloves, boots and reflective vests searched for Noah Chamberlin, and for the fourth night in a row nothing was found.

After a morning of specialized law enforcement searches, volunteers began aiding emergency responders again at about 6 p.m. Sunday and planned to search through the night in one-hour increments due to the sinking temperatures. The search had not found anything at press time Sunday. A request for additional volunteers may be made sometime Monday after a law enforcement search in the early morning. ….

Turner said the search and rescue operation would continue throughout the day Monday. He said he couldn’t say if there would be a specific time when the operation would cease.

We’re making plans for all day [Monday], and planning what we’re going to do [Monday] evening,” Turner said. “I hope we don’t have to use them. I hope we find him soon.”

Noah Chamberlin was reported missing at 1:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Police have said that Noah was walking with his grandmother and 4-year-old sister in the woods behind his grandparents’ home when his grandmother lost sight of him. Law enforcement from multiple state and local agencies, as well as volunteers, have been searching around the clock since he was reported missing.

Church prays

Volunteers and church members prayed for Noah at Pinson Baptist Church during Sunday morning's service. The church and the old Pinson school next door are being used as a gathering point for volunteers and donations of food and other items to help in the search effort.

The Rev. John Gaters, pastor of Pinson Baptist, said he was humbled by the number of people aiding the search for Noah.

“Something like this happens which is tragic and you hate it, and yet in the middle of it you see people really do care,” Gaters said. “They really, honestly care about this child, they care about this family. I’m amazed.”

Many kneeled at the front of the sanctuary to pray for Noah near the end of the service. The service also began with singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”

“The thought of a lost child, Lord, brings many of us to tears,” Gaters prayed. “… We know you are ultimately responsible for that child, Lord. We know that you created him, that you love him.”

FULL VIDEO – Sheriff: Search to rescue Noah is still active; may call for more volunteers
January 18, 2016 by WBBJTV Newsroom

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver says the search for missing 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin is still considered a rescue operation and that there may be a call for more volunteers if he isn’t found.

When asked why the mission was still to recover the child alive in the search area, Weaver replied only that they have faith.

As of Monday morning, crews had searched around 1,000 acres.

Weaver and Madison County Sheriff John Mehr held the Monday morning news conference and said that aspects of the terrain including sink holes and small caves posed a challenge to searchers.

Sheriff Weaver also cited social media as a problem.

Weaver said investigators have spoken with many family members including the boy’s 4-year-old sister who was also there at the time of the reported disappearance. He said the family had no interest in addressing the media at this time.

Weaver said the search area had expanded each day. He also said multiple types of search dogs have been and still are being used in the search efforts. He said rescue personnel from states across the Southeast as well as Oklahoma were aiding in the search.

thanks for this update texasmom.
I find it sad that folks would ridicule "faith" as a reason to keep the rescue efforts going.

Authorities 'keep the faith' in desperate search for Noah Chamberlin, 2-year-old missing for days in Tennessee woods
January 18, 2016

Authorities are relying on their faith to guide them in the desperate search for Noah Chamberlin, a toddler who went missing in the woods in Tennessee four days ago while walking with his family.

Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver and Madison County Sheriff John Mehr held a Monday press conference to discuss the search.

The search area was expanded to more than 1,000 acres, the authorities said.

Weaver and Mehr were evasive when asked about specifics in the case, but said faith has kept them from labeling the effort a recovery operation, despite no trace of the boy emerging.

“We have faith that we’ll rescue him,” Weaver said. “We’re going to keep that faith.”

Search and rescue and cadaver dogs have been used to search for Noah, who’s been missing for nearly 100 hours amid frigid temperatures.

No foul play has been suspected in the boy’s disappearance.

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.
