lol Orphan! I wasted my carpal tunnel way too much on her today...  

And so we begin to see why folks get the idea all Americans are a 'shoot first, ask questions later' bunch.  Even though from the outside it looks absolutely awful, I'm  holding out for a positive resolution and maybe even a complete 180 on who the real bad guys are.  You?

I tend to do , what only a small group of people seem to do, not bash, crucify and convict someone without speculation or assumptions (we all know the saying about assumptions   )

I try to be fair and impartial and to ALL parties feelings in my views and opinions. I do believe Natalee is alive while it is abundantly cler in all parties statements. I try to think outside the box.

I do have my theories as we all do but quite frankly we have only little "facts" in this situation, Natalee is missing and she left with Joran, Satish and Deepak, the 3 are in jail along with Steve and now Paulus and no one has an idea of what has happened. I almost (no offense to anyone in Aruba   ) feel like they are throwing darts while blindfolded at a dart board hoping for a bullseye at this moment. Everything changes every minute since the day she went missing.

You have to admit this Joran Van Der Sloot is one cool customer. If we are to believe he killed Natalee. Look at his immediate actions.

1. He shows up at school the next day and brags about having sex with Natalee.

2. He's back at the casino the next night gambling.

3. When the Twittys show up he was willing to talk to them, it was his dad and Deepak that kept saying "don't say anything"

4. He tells his mom that prison isn't so bad, and that when Natalee shows up he's gonna kick her butt in front of Beth because of all the trouble she's gotten him into.

For a 17 yr old that just comitted a murder? This guy is rock solid. :roll:

What's really frightening is that if he's a sociopath, this type of behavior would not be too unexpected.

My cousins are spoiled rotten and both of their parents have gotten them out of trouble time and time again...and guess what, the trouble never ends. If someone is going to pick up the pieces for you, what the hell, have at it.

Exactly.  And that is the impression I have here.  Once again, I go back to when the Twittys arrived at the VDS home at 3am and they are told that Joran is at the casino (on a school night).  I think daddy let Joran do many things he shouldn't have been doing and I think he helped Joran clean up his messes.  I feel differently about the mother and I'll kick myself in the butt if I'm wrong, but I truly believe that at this point she is trying so hard to believe in her husband and her son, but inside she it being torn apart.  You can just see it in her.  There very well may be more people involved here, but I believe most of them are "after the fact".

Just curious, but when and where did Deepak en Joran meet and got the chance to talk to eachother after they were put behind bars?Or was it before, and is it a rumor or stated somewhere?

They were all put in the same cell when they were first arrested on June 9.

Well, I'm beginning to wonder this.  If there is rumor that the brothers are going to be released (I know that's not even close to being confirmed) and all of the other recent events point me in that direction.  There was Deepak and Satish changing their story and placing JVDS as the last one with her on the beach.  There was talk of changing stories in the interrogation of the 3 all together where Joran was saying one of the brothers picked him up and when they denied that he said the other brother did.  Then there is daddy being arrested.  I think the brothers tried to cover Joran's a-s until it got to hot and then turned on him.  Maybe Deepak got Croes to try to be an alibi by saying he saw them drop them off and that's why he was held.  But I think this may be coming down to Joran and his daddy.

WELL DRAGONFLY There very well could be more folks involved.  But Joran was the one who supposedly was with her.  Whether it was just kissing or more.  I too would think it boils down to those 2 - Joran & Dad.
And let's face it, most parents who are known to spoil their children do anything and everything to help make matters worse.

My dear, you are not making much sense, and I suggest you take a couple aspirins for that headache you will soon experience.  I am interpreting what I see on the interviews and read in the press.   Your use of inflammatory words like "compost heap" and "stereotypes" are a form of propaganda called inflammatory name-calling.  Anita's view of her world is relevant when this world collides with the reality of her husband's and son's arrest.  Yes, LilOrphan, you are "harsh" and I am offering "conjecture" that I prefer to label as my own observations.  No, they are not "condescending" but they are a sympathetic portrayal of a woman who is trying to cope with the destruction of her world.  Thank you for noticing I was polite.  I am always polite and prefer to not use inflammatory language to describe my ideas as this is often misinterpreted.

I thought Anita, in her own way, was revealing her own sense of guilt to Greta, by showing the Natalee prayer card and Christmas angel in their living room.

I also felt Joran's mom was trying to mitigate, and somehow justify her son's deplorable actions by explaining how her son had been dumped by an American girlfriend who said he was 'too sweet' and not enough of a man for her.

Girls always say stuff like that when they dump guys!  It's hardly ever true!

Well Said DaWench I too know of some spoiled younger folks.  And to their parents - they can do NO WRONG WHATSOEVER.  The sad thing is one of these young folks I am referring to USED TO BE SWEET and now there is nothing but conceit and anger.  For no good reason either.

Once again, because you clearly don't get it, HON -- what we know about Anita Van Der Sloot as a person wouldn't fill a teaspoon.  And you've no particular insight, just a wagging tongue and simple thought process that finds it easier to label her than to really think with compassion about her situation.

I think the police have nothing on any of these guys. You cant convict someone of murder if all youve got is some inconsistent storys.

Hey Inspector You don't think they have ANYTHING???  I am not sure but I think they must have some pretty good info.  At least I certainly hope they do - The Holloways need answers and closure.

I so agree with the fact that the VDS mother is tore up b/c deep down she knows her family is involved with Natalee's disappearnce.  Like any mother would though, she is going to stand by them and support them.  In the interview with Greta yesterday, she broke down at one point and I do believe it was b/c deep down she realizes this is only going to get worse for their family.  And don't you know it, now they have Paul VDS.  You knew he had something to do with this!!!!!!!!!
