[Another K in Texas]

I teach.  My students will frequently be up all night watching television, playing video games, talking on the phone to boys.

Do I recommend it,  No.

But it does not make them evil.

My nephews and many of my students are into Texas Holdem an play all night.

It also does not make them evil.

The evil people are whoever hurt Natalee--and because they hurt her--not because of curfew or any superficial thing.


No one should judge parents.  My son's long term but now ex girlfriend had some major emotional issues.  Her older sister is one of the bravest people I know.  Same mom, same rearing.

Can't assume any of this is mom's fault.  Also can't assume she is mom of the year.

I'm sure this has been mentioned but I'm starting at the beginning of this thread and wanted to back up Ms NikkiB.  The Food and Drug Administration has cleared the way for a Florida company to market implantable chips that would provide easy access to individual medical records.

HOwever, the point i was making is that NATALEE IS MISSING, AND NEEDS TO BE FOUND.

1.  pressure needs to be maintained.
2.  arrests have occurred due to the pressure - even by mama vds's admission.
3.  it is high time that Mrs Beth Holloway Twitty gets to either get her daughter back alive, and if not alive - home for a decent Christian burial.

Unfortunately - I believe this is a case of a rape gone bad, with sonny boy being the culprit and papa helping to cover.  It seems that I may not be alone in these thoughts since pressure is being applied from all over the world - and the fact that sonny and papa are now sitting in jail.

I would love to believe that mama vds still believes taht sonny is innocent - but I don't.  She isn't a stupid woman - she is college educated.  It is time for her to demand (from sonny/hubby) that Beth at least gets the body back to bury.  

And if contacting the family is offensive - as in putting on "unfair" pressure - then so be it.  My vote is to end the pressure on Natalee's family.

Then, Brenda, since you seem to be the idiotic expert spouting things that BTW that have nothing to do with finding Natalee. ie slamming families, arubans etc.. then my advice..

My cousins are spoiled rotten and both of their parents have gotten them out of trouble time and time again...and guess what, the trouble never ends. If someone is going to pick up the pieces for you, what the hell, have at it.

Exactly.  And that is the impression I have here.  Once again, I go back to when the Twittys arrived at the VDS home at 3am and they are told that Joran is at the casino (on a school night).  I think daddy let Joran do many things he shouldn't have been doing and I think he helped Joran clean up his messes.  I feel differently about the mother and I'll kick myself in the butt if I'm wrong, but I truly believe that at this point she is trying so hard to believe in her husband and her son, but inside she it being torn apart.  You can just see it in her.  There very well may be more people involved here, but I believe most of them are "after the fact".

I think there has been a debate about that.  We have been saying all along that it was about 1am, but Mr. Twitty said 3am.  Either way, 1am on a school night in a casino is unbelievable.

I am a little puzzled CaliGirl. Maybe some one can help with this. Were the finals supposed to be starting the Monday May 30th when Natalee was supposed to leave? That is why you are asking whether Joran attended.

A news item that may have gone unnoticed with all the VDS news: The FBI announced today that they will be scaling back their Aruba presence.

My speculation is that the US would like to see the case wound up, and operations in the Caribbean to assume a lower profile.

I still haven't found the text of the family's statement today, but I also still have a hunch that even if a confession can be obtained that indicates Natalee's death and unlikely recovery of remains, that Mrs. Beth will not accept cosmetic closure, even if urged to do so by her government.  

And I don't think Mrs. Anita will either. "Something is terribly wrong," she says, and while, as Arubagirl says, at the moment, some on the island may be enjoying a few chortles over the latest detainee,  depending on what happens next, it could be that thoughts could turn in a direction that could impact that lower operational profile the US seeks.

I also get the impression (not from any specific post on this board) that having one family member witness another undergoing US-style interrogation techniques may not be a good cultural match for Aruba, or the Netherlands.

Right, the FBI was only allowed to sit in on interviews.  And that is no longer happening because the FBI agents assigned are now gone.

me too, been flippin channels till my tv looks like a bad silent film.  can't find any news conference.  was the one with Nat's aunt called off.  I read there was suppose to be one at 6 EST
