As far as releases there will be none at this time. They will be back in court in aprox. two days (rumored) to be tomorrow.

I can state, that if there be any possible releases, Deepak Kalpoe and Joran van der sloot will be among the list.

Not a chance that sonny boy will be released especially after papa was just arrested....however, i have no doubt that the brothers will be released.  i am thinking they "caved" and told the truth about dropping off sonny boy and Miss Natalee at the beach.  

It does make sense.  Miss Natalee would recognize that she is walking distance, and probably just wanted to take sweet time getting back to hotel, and was probably planning on final "night night kiss", trading emails, and then getting walking home to the Holiday Inn.

However, it also makes sense that sonny boy tried to "take some", - back to rape gone bad -  killed Miss Natalee.  Perhaps that guy from the boat saw, or helped dispose of her....but certainly papa vds was called in to help.  not sure how this last part will play out....

I just hope that Beth gets to at least give her daughter a decent Christian burial - and that sonny boy - along with the true accomplices - rot in hell or meet the wrath of the people of Alabama when all is said and done.

Remember when someone said that one of the chaperones had to tell someone on the beach to take a hike because that person was trying to push drugs on several of the high school girls?  The chaperone escorted the girls back into the hotel.  They indicated that the only trouble they had in Aruba was fending off the drug dealers.  People have speculated about why the MBHS boys and Joran got into a shoving match.  Everyone agrees Natalee didn't have a boyfriend, so it wasn't territorial in that way, but of a more protective type of thing.  My guess is that Joran suggested that she would like to try his ecstasy, maybe in a rather suggestive manner.  The MBHS boys would react to this angrily, more so than to any other comment Joran could have made.  Didn't the students state that the arrested trio were known on the island as the"dealers"?  Just an idea...

Just the fact that he's asking for a different story than what they experienced would alert them to something not being "quite right."  I don't see the leap to their, "Yeah, sure, we'll go with whatever you say Jorann," not to mention when the live girl they dropped off is missing and the police are involved.

I'm sorry, but in response to Paul VDS' in the interview with Greta...all I can say is I pray that something comes out of his arrest today.

I may be way outta line by thinking this, but I've never seen a judge act
so closed up in a shell, in my life. Although, Aruba supposedly is not
crawling with crime, how can he expect to sit in front of even a thief and
tell him/her they are going to jail. Paul VDS just doesn't act like he could
do that job.

Or....perhaps he's not usually THIS quiet, beady, and sweaty...

It's possible we are all getting our hopes up, but it's hard not too, at

There are at least three pictures of kids with guns.  Doubt if its related to this case.  There was also a news story the other day in Aruba of a kid shooting a gun.  He was an American kid living in Aruba, I think they were trying to put out a few news stories that show that Americans aren't perfect.

My scenario is that they really took them to his house and left them.  There sex occured, with consent, but Joran thought no mean yes?  It is perhaps her first time, so when she threatens rape charges, the evidence is strongly on her side.

Dad might even have been the one who choked her to silence her.  Hence the wringing of his hands.  Joran now has to stay silent to protect himself from rape charges and the dad from murder.

Problem is, why in the world would the brothers lie for so long to protect him.  Friendship is one thing, but a lie that lasts at least to the time of their arrest is something else.  As soon at the girl did not show up, they should have and would have gone to the police with the truth.

Scared? I don't think they did lie except at the beginning. I think we started to hear about stories changing etc. they came clean. Then the stories and timelines were confirmed, and Joran and his dad's lies or inconsistencies which could not be explained came to confirmation. Afterall, Joran was the last known, witnessed person to be with Natalee.

Pot, yes, but not many people here do ecstacy or club drugs...and rarely if ever do I hear of hard drugs. It's mostly alcohol and pot, here.

my only problem with this is, that joran probably wouldn't have been so open with it, due to who he is. I just don't know that part doesn't feel right to me

Depends on when the shoving took place in the timeline.  If it was early in the week, Joran was just getting to know these kids.  Anymore, you can't tell by looking at people if they are open to drug use or not, especially in a vacation situation.  When kids first get together, they feel each other out (as far as the others' attitude towards drugs and drinking) by dropping comments and seeing if the others pick up on them.  I think if it was in the beginning of the trip, Joran may have dropped a suggestion to feel out the group's attitude towards drugs.  He learned quickly that the group did not use drugs, and dropped it.  This may have influenced the way he acted the rest of the week with these kids.
