All that was said, was Joran called Dad to pick him up at McDonalds at 11.  Sneaks out without Dad knowing, when a car is pulling up and they have dogs???  Maybe he waited until Dad went back out ......Mom was away maybe Dad wanted to play.  The next night when the Twittys arrived he was at a Casino per Dad (not sure of time but believe it was after 1am.....past his curfew

If you conspired to cover up a crime together the curfew the next night with mom out of town and finals over are of little consequence

CNN just played tape of Mrs VDS saying while visiting joran, he said he was afraid the LE were going to pick up his dad because of things they said, and they should show him more respect. A neighbor called and said police were at the VDS home. They went there, put daddy VDS in a room by himslef, and then came out saying he was being detained.

Did Joran break and tell the truth about his dad, even though his dad told GVS last night he was hopeful his son could hold out?

I have to say, I didn't think much of it before, but when I saw the Greta interview with the Van der Sloot's,  I noticed that Palus did not make real eye contact with Greta when answering her questions.  He also gave short answers.   Also, his look was one more like fear than upset.

Now, Mrs Van der Sloot looks like she has been through the ringer and really has no idea what is going on.  I would say she was not kept in the loop of information.

Will be interesting to see where this all goes.

I feel bad for Anita. Anyone notice has she's gone to looking haggard and comletely out of it now?

Perhaps she should be losing sleep because of wondering why she couldn't be bothered to discipline that scum she raised instead of thinking how unfair it is that sonny boy is gonna get exposed!

I will not apologize for not being politically correct.  She allowed her son to frequent casinos and bars on a regular basis while being underaged - not to mention that she didn't mind him doing this on school nights.

As far as I am concerned - she totally lacks as a responsible mother - and has failed to properly raise her children.  The rest of her children should be taken away and put in the hands of decent people to raise.  

With attitutes like "poor little Anita" - no wonder she isn't feeling bad about turning loose a piece of trash like her son, and is instead saying "my sonny boy has always been perfect".

I'm trying to follow this thread and do several other things at the same time. All the space taken by the discussion about what to do with a kitty cat is a little intrusive, if you'll pardon my saying so. I wonder if maybe that discussion could be moved to another thread -- perhaps even one that doesn't have anything to do with this case.

At least it shouldn't be in the "rumors of breaking news" or "breaking news" threads. A moderated would normally put a stop to something like this, but I guess the traffic is too high right now.

Sorry to seem cold-hearted, but with space and bandwidth at a premium right now, it's maybe not the best time for pet placement talk.

I believe she said he was wringing his hands--we could all see the sweat dripping off of him. He looked shifty, too, and didn't say much.

All of that body language seems to add up to this: he knows more than he's saying and what he knows isn't good.

I agree PVDS knows more than he's saying.  In terms of him sweating though folks, don't discount that it's HOT in Aruba...typically in the 90's with high humidity.  That's pretty much the identical weather we have here in the Southeast and it makes everyone sweat.

It was on Greta's show that BHT said she felt Natalie was at the VDS's house.  If I am correct
