You have to admit this Joran Van Der Sloot is one cool customer. If we are to believe he killed Natalee. Look at his immediate actions.

1. He shows up at school the next day and brags about having sex with Natalee.

2. He's back at the casino the next night gambling.

3. When the Twittys show up he was willing to talk to them, it was his dad and Deepak that kept saying "don't say anything"

4. He tells his mom that prison isn't so bad, and that when Natalee shows up he's gonna kick her butt in front of Beth because of all the trouble she's gotten him into.

For a 17 yr old that just comitted a murder? This guy is rock solid. Rolling Eyes

Inspector, I have to concur.

Don't forget also that he drove with them back to the HI to "show them where he dropped Natalee off."  That little tidbit blew my mind.

Hello Monkeys.

1st. impression: case is about to be wrapped up.  Son and dad guilty.

2nd impression: based on Greta saying if these are the guilty people.  This case may turn out totally different than we expect. Not a quote, but a basic paraphrase.  This may not be the end of this story.

3rd impression:  How sad for all the families involved.

I've heard that the case is about to be wrapped up for the last 3 weeks. Not sure I believe that. From what I can tell. The police have no evidence whatsoever. And if it was in the United States, all these suspects would never have been arrested. Rolling Eyes

That was just my first impression when I heard the dad had been arrested.  After thinking about it a few minutes, Greta's comment struck me.  She does not sound convinced that these are really the people responsible for NH disappearance.  I don't know what to think about this sad situation at this point.

Whatever the outcome, all the families are suffering.  Mrs. VDS does not seem to be capable of holding herself and her two other children together during this.  Whatever you think of her, she is a sad figure.

Mrs. BHT is one of the strongest women I have ever seen.  Still she has to have her breaking point.

Hey Chloe2.
I'm talking now about the reaction of my co-workers when they broke the news.

Everybody was like "Wow, they really arrested him. Huh. Who's next?". I've heard rumors that the brothers and Croes are going to be released, but have not heard anything concrete.

And then we all had a chuckle at the thought of a government official sent here by Holland to be arrested.

We're bad. I know.

Thanks for the update and insight.  I always appreciate the info you post!

Huh?? Whaaat??

I can tell you one thing, the three amigos would have been arrested long ago -- like would have been dragged in for questioning the night the Twittys arrived, judge would have given a quicky search warrant and the cars, two families' houses and computers searched and confiscated.

Now papa might not have come into it until a few days later, but in the US those three would have been sucking down jailhouse gruel long before they were in Aruba.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, but think you're wasting your breath on Brenda.  She's already passed judgement.

Thanks for the heads up. Her continued statements begin to paint a specific picture, but not of Anita Van Der Sloot. Guess mom was right all along with the whole "What Peter says about Paul...." motto. Smile

Thanks for answering politely and I don't want to belabor this, but truly, it was not compassionate nor kind. You're making up this woman's life from whole cloth, based on a couple of interview snippets and your preconceived beliefs about her job, her "spirituality"  and a compost heap full of stereotypes about life in different places.

It needs to stop or be turned into something relative to the specifics of the case. Otherwise, it comes across as unadulterated bashing of a total stranger who happens to be in a lousy predicament that may or may not  have any real reflection on her as a human being.

Sorry if I was harsh, but that's how the last three pages of Anita conjecture and condescension came across. And I do apologize for bringing it up again.

LilOrphan,
My dear, you are not making much sense, and I suggest you take a couple aspirins for that headache you will soon experience.  I am interpreting what I see on the interviews and read in the press.   Your use of inflammatory words like "compost heap" and "stereotypes" are a form of propaganda called inflammatory name-calling.  Anita's view of her world is relevant when this world collides with the reality of her husband's and son's arrest.  Yes, LilOrphan, you are "harsh" and I am offering "conjecture" that I prefer to label as my own observations.  No, they are not "condescending" but they are a sympathetic portrayal of a woman who is trying to cope with the destruction of her world.  Thank you for noticing I was polite.  I am always polite and prefer to not use inflammatory language to describe my ideas as this is often misinterpreted.

Lausa

Wow, you've just hurt the feelings of a lot of students Smile

Kidding, kidding

Yes, I graduated from Colegio at both levels (Havo and VWO), and it's NOT a vocational school, i.e. one does not go there to learn a skill. It's a general education school, and the only one of its kind on the island.

About the 6 subjects, at one point students have to choose which subjects they want to continue with. At HAVO, you choose in your third year, and in VWO, it's your fifth year. So yeah, one can graduate in only six subjects, but it's not only 6 subjects given.

I'm afraid I'm going to start WWIII with this next sentence, but the fact is that a VWO student graduates with the equivalent of an education of a U.S. junior college. Okay, maybe not Ivy Leage colleges, but state colleges, definitely.

Do the police have a witness who saw these guys murder Natalee - I think not. Do the police have any forensic evidence - like large quatities of blood in their cars - no. They have nothing.

This should be really obvious at this time that mama vds needs to be arrested also - at least for complicity.

MOre pressure on teh VDS's, the sooner poor Natalee's mother gets to give her daughter a decent burial.

If anita has "hurt feelings" and "feels picked on" - tough sh**. if she had bothered to raise that scum - all this wouldnt' be going on right now.

Yeahh and while we do that, let`s arrest the whole family vds as well, jeez talking about an objective view here. Scum? Where are you get  your 'inside' from? The last time I checked; NOBODY KNOWS WHAT EVIDENCE there is what we al do is speculate!! At least that was my thinking Shocked

MY THEORY OF THE DAY !

I believe something happend at the VDS house with natalee

Accidental death ,

why where the cars of the VDS where towed away and sent to the netherlands for research purposes ?

Because they transfered her body in one of the cars. Dad drops of joran again at the beach . Joran calls the kalpoe brothers to pick him up and claims that he left her on the beach .

You too, Cali!  BTW, seeing my quote, it could be taken in the wrong way... Smile

Anita VDS was on MSNBC and was obviously upset.  She was blaming pressure from the US for her hubby's arrest.

Agreed golden.

As well as Beth's words of always stating that the 3 know what happened. It's never been they did something to my daughter...it's always that they have information to find her daughter...

Always taken those statements into thought.
