In the days following his endorsement of gay marriage, President Obama is doubling down on efforts to attract LGBT donors with the help of gay celebrities and a network of high-profile gay and lesbian supporters. His calendar this month and next is filling up with gay-centric events poised to rake in millions for his re-election efforts.

On Monday in New York, Obama will join openly gay pop star Ricky Martin at a fundraiser in the city’s LGBT epicenter Chelsea. The afternoon reception at the Rubin Museum of Art will mainly comprise supporters from the gay and Latino communities — acknowledged as two of the President’s crucial constituencies. Donors will spend between $5,000 and $35,800 to attend.

After President Obama announced his support for same-sex marriage, a group organizing a fundraiser on his behalf suddenly had to find a bigger venue. The event, featuring the pop singer Pink, is one of two LGBT-organized fundraisers Obama is expected to attend on the West Coast on Wednesday.

A CNN analysis of President Obama's biggest fundraisers, known as bundlers, shows that at least 33 -- or about one in every 16 bundlers -- is openly gay. Together, they have raised at least $8 million for the campaign between January and the end of March.

Homicides are rising in cities across America, including Chicago, Dallas, Jacksonville, Fla., Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Memphis while al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists are giving instructions on how to kill other Americans, but President Barack Hussein Obama’s prime objective seems to be to keep his promise to “fundamentally change America.”

The man who members of the LGBT community call “The First Gay President,”decided just recently that the most important thing on his agenda these days was to unilaterally pass a law (as he has been doing most of his seven years in the White House) that demands schools make their bathrooms open to transgender students.

Now transgender means someone is a man but “feels like” a woman. So Obama’s law would require schools to allow boys who want to be girls to urinate and shower in the girls’ toilet and locker rooms in schools. And, (are you ready for this) if the school doesn’t allow this, then Obama’s administration will take away the school’s federal funding under Title IX of the Department of Education Civil Rights law. So transgender people are now added as a “protected class” just like black folk and the handicapped.

The vote was on what is being called “the Maloney amendment,” which ratified into law Obama’s 2014 executive order barring private businesses that do contract work with the federal government from engaging in what Obama calls “discrimination” on the basis of “sexual orientation and gender identity” in their private employment policies.

Obviously, some of them have already begun feeling the pain of that vote. Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., issued a statement a day later saying his vote was “recorded incorrectly.” “My position on this issue has not and will not change,” Shimkus said in a statement. “I’ve consistently defended religious liberty and I always will. During a series of 14 votes on the House floor, I accidentally cast a ‘yea’ vote for the Maloney Amendment when I intended to vote ‘nay.’ I regret the mistake.”
