Backlash on Native American Reservation Over Transgender Bathroom Policy

As several U.S. states consider public bathroom policies similar to the one that passed in North Carolina this spring, a Native American reservation in Montana is facing criticism for passing its own version of the law. The Fort Peck Reservation in northeastern Montana has likely become the first Native American group to say that tribal members must use the public bathroom corresponding to their gender at birth.

On May 23, the executive board on the 2 million–acre reservation, which is home to roughly 10,000 members of the Assiniboine and Sioux tribes, passed a motion “regarding transgender use of public bathrooms to mirror the position the state of North Carolina has taken,” according to the minutes from the meeting, obtained by a local media outlet.

“What people do in their bedrooms is their business. How public bathrooms are used is [my] business,” Tribal Councilman Edward Bauer said during the meeting.

ACLU Leader Quits Over 'Transgender Bathroom Rights' Flap

The interim director of the Georgia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union has resigned over the agency's support of the federal directive allowing public-school students to use the bathroom matching their gender identity.

Maya Dillard Smith called it quits on Thursday, saying the transgender ruling comes at the expense of women's civil rights.

"If our goal is to advance the rights of equality of transgender folk, how do we do that, and advance the rights of all people?" Dillard Smith said, according to 11alive.com.

The former ACLU director claims her daughters shared a bathroom with trans women and that experience led to her resignation.
 
Smith reportedly said the ACLU is advocating for trans rights at the expense of safety for women and children. In a statement to Atlanta Progressive News, the former director called the ACLU a special interest organization that "promotes not all, but certain progressive rights. In that way, it is a special interest organization not unlike the conservative right, which creates a hierarchy of rights based on who is funding the organization's lobbying activites."

President Obama does not protect women or children. He does not have a paternal instinct.
This is so peculiar to have a President, who allows men to enter Ladies room, dressing rooms, and locker rooms.

We are a nation of almost 320 million people. Statistics are not plentiful. There are no national figures kept, but it’s estimated the number of transgendered Americans is about 700,000, or 0.3 percent of the population.

Since the biggest controversy these days seems focused on transgender students and what might happen in their school bathrooms or locker rooms, perhaps the best statistic to focus upon comes from a 2014 survey of millennials by the Public Religion Research Institute. That survey found 1 percent of young people identify as transgender.

1 percent of young people identify as transgender.  Why does the President want the 99 percent of the school children to be penalized?  Think about it.

Why is Obama moving heaven and earth for just 1 percent of the children who identify as a transgender?

Obama is trying to penalize the states who do not comply with his 'gender identity' policy for schools.

Why is he threatening to issue a mass punishment order (executive order) for the schools?

You don't suppose the tran$gender policy is a gift to the LGBT community for putting Obama in office?

The administration has no business forcing its transgender beliefs on Americans and their institutions. And it certainly shouldn't use the bludgeon of state power to coerce compliance - suing those who don't share its views, stripping them of funding, or driving them out of business. Lawmakers must prevent this abuse of power and block the administration from redefining what it is to be a man or a woman for all Americans.

Transgender Bathrooms are President Obama's top priority.  The 'Bathroom President' is not concerned about anything other than paying favors back to his transgender money friends (imo).  Men are scaring women out of public ladies rooms, why?  Because Obama is in love with money and the transgender community.

What does Obama's Gender Identity mean?

It means if a man wants to poop in the Ladies room, no one is going to stop him.
It means if a chick wants to meet a guy in the Mens room, she is free to do so, and no one is going to stop her.


 
We are like a tribe, in the jungle, with no privacy. 'Gender Indenty' you have no say.  You have no privacy in a public Ladies or Mens room.

Obama administration has selected "gender identity" insulting Americans who can not understand what the words mean.

Simply means a women has no privacy in the Ladies Room. A teenager boys sees you daughter walk into the ladies room and he can march in right behind her.
No one can do anything about it. The teenage (or man) will say, it is my 'gender identity" he feels a 'girl' today.  He marches right in and your daughter
has nothing to say about it. IMO. If a chick wants to meet your teenage son, she simply follows him in the Men's room,'she feels like a man, today'
this is called 'gender identity.' Whatever sex you want to be, female or male, toot your horn, march in to whatever rest room that suits your purpose.IMO
