New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is billing taxpayers $265,000 for new advertisements that tell New Yorkers to use whichever bathroom they want, regardless of gender.

The “Look past pink and blue” campaign ads with transgender individuals are being plastered across the city, on the subway, in bus stops, phone booths, local television, and on social media. The ads will also appear in Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Russian, and Bengali newspapers.  More...

“It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber” went the old bumper sticker often seen on Volvos. In Mayor Bill de Blasio’s New York, it’s more like, “It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the mayor has to hold a bake sale to run mostly useless ads that do little but pat himself on the back.”

We might have crumbling infrastructure, failing schools and an overburdened transit system, but the mayor still found $265,000 for a splashy ad campaign to address the issue of our time: which bathroom should be used by the .02 percent of the population that’s transgender.

Actually, the mayor’s new ad campaign doesn’t even do that. What it does is inform people that it has long been policy in New York City that anyone can use any bathroom.

HOWELL, Michigan, June 6, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) -- A Michigan school district has stopped the practice of allowing members of one biological sex to use the restrooms of the opposite sex after parents pulled their two sons out of elementary school over the issue. RUSH:  Not happy.  Not happy.  What this means is that Cornel West is not happy that the age of Obama is where black folk find themselves pushed to the back of the bus again while their gay brothers and lesbian sisters are more and more pushed to the center and the front of the bus.  So, according to Cornel West, even with the first black president, he cares more about and is spending more time on gays and lesbians than he is on his own folk, on his own people.  And, Cornel, that's cause they got more money.  They have more money to donate.  I don't mean to insult you, but I mean that's why. Cornel's right.  He's totally right about this.  Cornel, the black folk vote is assumed.  It's taken for granted.  Why not?  They get 93% of it every election.  They don't have to work for it.  But the gay and lesbian brothers and sisters, they donate a lot of money, and they have to be paid back, so they get to move to the center of the bus, the front of the bus.  Obama's at the front of the bus..

Access: It is matter of moral decency

To the Editor:

As defined by an online dictionary service, the term decency means "actions that are moral, modest or socially acceptable, or is what basics are required for a good standard of living." When used in a sentence the word could read, "Wearing a skirt that is long enough to cover your bottom is an example of decency."

Well it's certainly not "rocket science" but it seems obvious to me and I am sure from "decent" (a derivative of the term we are discussing) people living in the Southeast Tennessee that transgender bathroom access is indecent and certainly not a "trail we Americans dare trod." Since composing this editorial, other states that have joined the ranks opposing this action include Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin, as well as the Arizona Department of Education and the governor of Maine, Mr. Paul LePage.  More...
