Court docs: Transgender voyeur admits to pattern

A transgender Idaho Falls woman who was arrested Monday for felony voyeurism told a Sheriff’s Office detective in a subsequent interrogation that she secretly filmed a young woman undressing, and that it was a crime she had committed in the past.

Shauna Smith, 43, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail under the name Sean Smith, and was arraigned Wednesday.  More..

An Idaho man dressed as a woman was arrested for allegedly taking video of a woman in the fitting room of an Idaho Falls Target store, police say.

Officials are now investigating to find out if Smith has perpetrated such acts at other stores.

The suspect’s alleged actions are complicated by the store’s policy of allowing men who claim to be women to use the women’s facilities whenever they want. In April, Target announced it was formally inviting anyone to use any bathroom or changing area they want at any given time. A month later, Target CEO Brian Cornell defended the policy announcement despite a major boycott campaign, $5 billion in lost revenue, and wide criticism.

Smith’s ex-wife, (snipped),spoke to KPVI off camera. She confirmed her ex-husband began transitioning to a woman after their divorce in January of this year. She adds they were married for eight years, and that was part of the reason for the divorce.

Anderson also says, she hasn’t heard from him since April, and has heard through friends that he is currently taking hormones.

She says in their relationship he’s passively mentioned he would like to start wearing women clothing. She says, although Smith identifies as a woman, he’s still interested in women.

According to the detective, Ms. Smith (Sean Patrick Smith) said that she (he) gets sexual gratification from such videos and later showed the detective a video of a woman changing in a Target fitting room. Ms. Smith (Sean Patrick Smith) is represented by a public defender.

Target, which has 1,792 stores nationwide, said in a statement that it was committed to creating “a safe and secure shopping environment” and that it immediately cooperated with local law enforcement as soon as it learned of the case.

In a statement, Greg Scott, a spokesman for the conservative Christian group the Alliance Defending Freedom, said that while the group recognizes that most transgender men and women have no bad intentions, policies granting them access to the bathroom of their choosing “make girls and women more vulnerable to those who do have bad intentions.”

It’s another case of creepy peepers snooping on women and girls in Target: A man named Sean Patrick Smith who identifies as a woman by the name of Shauna Patricia Smith was arrested on charges tied to taking photographs of women inside a dressing room at a Target retail store in Ammon, Idaho.

Target, which recently opened its bathrooms and dressing rooms to both genders, allowing users to visit the facility that most corresponded with their chosen sex – so men could use women’s facilities, and vice versa – has caused widespread outrage among shoppers. The American Family Association, for example, launched a petition signed by more than 1.3 million demanding a reversal of the open-door policy. Revere Police Charge Man With Watching Woman Change Inside Target

On June 13, police released a photograph of a man they said looked over a dividing wall in the unisex changing room at the Target on Furlong Drive.

Frisco police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man who recorded a girl in the changing room at a Super Target.

My question is what the  _ell does he do with these videos? Does he share his creepy video's?  Does it store them on his computer?  
When is a hearing scheduled for this freak? IMO.  So how many video's has he made of females, changing clothes in the fitting room?  
These poor Women and Teens, unknowingly, being video taped and ogled by this perv. IMO

Target settles lawsuits from knife attack at Pittsburgh store

After a customer was stabbed in the checkout line of the Target store in East Liberty three years ago, she and her family filed a lawsuit against the retailer, arguing the company did not provide adequate security to protect its customers.

Target then filed a lawsuit of its own against the three Pittsburgh men who followed the girl's attacker into the store and wrested the knife away from him, saying they were at fault for the stabbing because they caused the situation to escalate to violence by confronting the man.

But just one day into the trial, during which Meadows planned to speak in defense of her rescuers, Minneapolis-based Target Corp. announced Thursday that the company had reached a settlement in the case.

Target says it has settled suit with girl attacked in East Liberty store

Target Corp. this morning told a judge that it has reached a settlement with the family of a girl who was seriously injured when she was stabbed by a man in the East Liberty Target store in 2013, according to the judge's staff.

An attorney for Ms. Meadows alleged in opening statements to the jury Wednesday that Target was to blame for the attack because a manager just 10 months earlier had asked for funding to pay for full-time, armed, police security after a series of assaults and other crimes, including a separate case of a woman armed with a knife.

But a manager in Target's headquarters in Minneapolis turned down the request for 105 hours a week of full-time coverage and, instead, only agreed to fund 40 hours a week coverage.

The East Liberty Target store decided to use that funding to provide armed, police security from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.  Read more...
