Amber alert issued for girl after two found dead in home
WCNC 6:32 PM. EDT April 02, 2017
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have issued an amber alert for an 11-year-old girl after a man and a woman were found dead inside a home on Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to the 7500 block of Glenncannon Drive after a call for service came in at 11:05 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a male and female deceased inside the home. The identities of the two deceased have not been released pending family notification.
 
This car left the scene just before the Charlotte Fire Department's initial arrival.

11-year-old Arieyana Forney is believed to live at the residence with the two deceased victims. CMPD believes she might be in serious danger and is seeking the public’s assistance in locating her.
 
Anyone with information about this incident, the location of Forney, or the location of the pictured vehicle is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.

Amber Alert issued for girl who lived at east Charlotte home where 2 found dead

Police are looking for a 11-year-old girl who was believed to have lived at an east Charlotte home where police Sunday were investigating a double homicide.

CMPD isued an Amber Alert seeking the public’s assistance in locating Arieyana Simone Forney. Police said they would identify the male and female victims found at the home in the 7500 block of Glencannon Drive after family notification.
 
According to the Amber Alert, Forney is believed to have been taken by unknown suspects in a white 2005 Chevrolet Impala with a North Carolina license plate of PAV4294. The possible suspects are wanted for questioning in the homicide and may be armed with handguns, the alert says.
 
Hickory Grove Division patrol officers were first summoned at 11:05 a.m. Sunday to assist the Charlotte Fire Department with a call about a house fire at the home, police said. The victims were found dead inside the home.

******* news partner WBTV reported there was a shooting at the home and that there was an attempted arson at the crime scene. WSOC TV reported that the victims were a husband and wife and were Forney’s guardians.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Arieyana Simone Forney, 11, has been located and is safe with authorities, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

An Amber Alert was issued earlier when she was reported missing after her grandparents, who were her guardians, were found dead at their home in east Charlotte. The Amber Alert has been canceled.

Arieyana found in Washington, D.C., authorities said.

Police are investigating the double homicide in the 7500 block of Glencannon Drive.

Police say firefighters went to the home about 11:05 a.m. Sunday after an alarm system detected smoke. Inside, they found a small fire and the homeowners, Curtis Atkinson Sr. and Ruby Atkinson, a husband and wife, dead.

Police are seeking murder charges against Curtis Atkinson Jr., the son of the two killed. The younger Atkinson is the uncle of Arieyana.
