The Dark side has some interesting things to say about the case.  There are about 3 articles that I've read.  They are more reflective than factual reporting but the man has an excellent writing style.

LouLou----Lot of US in Birmingham have been saying the same thing for weeks now. You go to Aruba for a REASON.....These Kids Knew what they were getting into when they decided to go on this trip. Every single Adult I have talked to in Birmingham have said the same thing, there is NO-WAY they would let their kids go on a Trip like this...However with that said, I am in no-way trying to turn the tables and BLAME the Victim or the Parents. But my only reason or posting a reply is in hope that most of us will at least TRY to have some PERSEPCTIVE in this situation.
 Lessons SHOULD be LEARNED from all of this Mess.

I do blame the kids and parents.
18-year olds do Aruba  for specific reasons - sun, sand, partying, booze.
Not the place for 18-year olds with limited supervision.
The chaperons said on-the-record they DID NOT watch the kids.
It is a shame she is probably dead.
It was admitted she was making out in the back of the car.
This is with a local stranger.
Does this sound like a good or smart activity?
If you want to stay safe, stay: together, out of cars, away from strangers.

Now is the time to stop all the hub-bub and let the authorities handle it.
I am tired of white girls getting the attention - and I am a WASP.
When is the last time a missing black or latino had this much coverage?

You aren't the ONLY one that is saying this.
hang in there, REASON will Eventually previal. But sometimes the ride to that point can be a thing to watch and learn from.
