I recall that the old school death spiral for insurance policies included rising prices and few people able to keep and afford the policies.  I noticed more and more working families, those 'covered' by self paid health insurance and employer sponsored covered coverage are finding it impossible to pay for ever increasing premiums?  For some, the premiums are rising and breaking the camel's back and/or deductibles and copays are out of control and unaffordable.  Many were able to afford policies before Obamacare / ACA.  What is affordable about ACA for these folks?

Why?  Hmmm...old school policies had limits - often there were annual or lifetime limits on coverage.  Policies may not have covered mental illness, cosmetic, behavioral, or normal conditions.  Things like in patient or outpatient treatment by specialists for depression, sex change, breast construction, normal pregnancy, alcoholism, and drug abuse.  Coverage for these items may have been available for an additional cost, by adding a special 'rider' to the policy.  Often there were free or very low cost resources in the community or available online.

How many hospitals have been converted to 'behavioral centers'?  How many converted ERs now take in drunk people, give them a bed, make them a sandwich, and send them home with a taxi voucher when they wake up?  Repeat 3-4 times a week for each person?  How much does this cost taxpayers?  Working families who pay premiums?  How can these people have money and time for alcohol all week long and pay their healthcare premiums?  What is the cost per person per visit?  How much profit to the mega hospital system business?

In the olden days there was something called a 'drunk tank' - often these were located at the local police station, or maintained by local charities.

How much more are they going to steal from working people and taxpayers for never ending corporate profits?  How many have been forced to drop Obamacare policies due to rising costs and the plans becoming un-affordable?

It seems like any time government controls something, it goes down hill really fast.  Prices go up, quality goes way down.  Medicare had high deductible that go up every year, and many participants buy supplements to make up the difference.  Medicare patients report difficulty finding doctors to treat their illnesses.

When will common sense return?  Let people pick and choose what makes sense for their family?    When does treatment for problems like drug and substance abuse return to the community?  Regain affordability?  When does common sense return?  When to treatment center go out of business?

Where do all the drugs and alcohol come from?  Where does it end?  Bankruptcy for a nation?

Why not outsource non-emergency surgery?

Sex Change Options, less than $10,000 -

How much does it cost Obamacare and other plans?

There are many other websites offering similar and related cosmetic procedures.  How much less would it cost working poor people if they could find a very basic plan that covered their needs without all the bells and whistles? Maybe healthcare would be affordable again?

How many packs of cigarettes or lattes would it take to pay for one of the many cosmetic operations available?
