Dear Greta,
Just got back from Aruba from our yearly vacation there. This time was so different. I think Natalee Holloway is getting back on them.
Apparently the island is inundated with crime due to drugs. My husband and I have been going there for over 12 years and have always felt safe until now. We were robbed of over $3000 worth of stuff on the beach last week during our visit.
They try so desperately to keep it secret — I learned this from the natives. However, the week before us there was another robbery on the beach — denied by the management of our resort (of course, due to public relations, etc.) Two days after we were robbed, so were my friends. A couple we met were robbed at the Lighthouse while visiting the beach! Three natives told me their homes were broken into! The crime is rampant on the island and word needs to get out. We type messages on the Aruban message boards to warn people and they do not get posted.
I had the pleasure of taunting Deepak Kalpoe at his place of business and then seeing Joran van der Sloot in the old Wyndham casino the night he was freed from the NY lawsuit. He walked in there with such arrogance that I wanted to punch him out! People in the casino that work there patted him on the back with such celebration it made me sick! The island reeks of corruption! The natives speak of Beth Twitty as a drunken slut who fixed the whole story. I met her last year late at night and she was sober as sober can be!
I have been going to Aruba for so many years — it was my home away from home. However, after being robbed on the beach, meeting Deepak and seeing Joran in action, I am totally confused! It is obvious (and spoken by the natives) that the government is so corrupt. I no longer feel safe in Aruba. How is it that Natalee is missing and these arrogant, low-life a__holes are walking free!

Can anyone guess at which day Deepak says he vacuumed his car because of the sand Joran got in it? Does it seem to anyone else that this statement about Joran w/ sand on his shorts & legs is strange?  Could they have possibly been in a hurry doing something on the beach or beachy area and didn't take the time to wipe off the sand?  perhaps getting out of somewhere fast as to not be seen?  I cannot decipher "which" day Deepak is talking about....

I mentioned the sand the other night.  In an interview, Joran talked about the sand and how he got it over Deepak's car.  It was one of those "too much information" times and it stuck out in my head.  Now I see it mentioned in Deepak's statement.  This is significant, but I don't know why.

Is it because there was really no sand and it was to throw everyone off about where they actually were?

Is it because it would explain why someone would find it necessary to vacuum in the middle of the night?

Is it because Natalee was hurt/unconscious on the beach and they got a lot of sand in the car dragging her bacj in the car because they didn't know what to do with her?  Is this why they started speeding?  Were they originally going to try to get her help and then she stopped breathing?

I haven't quite grasped the significance of that planted information yet, but I have some ideas.

I asked about it the other night but there were no replies.  I think at the time, the monkeys were hot on the trail of another scoop, so I dropped it and thought I would bring it up again another time.

I have found in some of my notes from someone who used to write me from Aruba, that the name of the person K2 aludes to could be Steve Keith. Anyone who anything about this Steve.


I wonder if there is a Steve Keith that works at Digicel?

I also did a very quick search -- and there appears to be a well known photographer by the name of Steve Keith on Aruba. Seems to take photos for tourism board.

And I caught an article about a race car driver by that name -- but he lives in NY. Although he has raced in Aruba.

Ah, another photographer.  Wonder if he was doing a little work on the side, porno for the pimps.

Deepak: June 11 Statement

Within approx 2 hours (1:00am - 3:00am), Deepak relieves himself 3 times:

1.  At C&C.
2.  Ouside car at Lighthouse.
3.  At home waiting for jvds to call.

He also ate two meals after leaving work with in an hour or so: at Taco Bell and then at home before picking up jvds.

Doesn't this sound strange?

Obviously and most importantly -- here is the first move we're aware of off the blown HI drop off cover story.  So it happens on June 11.

Beth said on Fox, just before the civil case was dismissed, that Arubans blame Natalee for their problems, not Joran, not the corruption that they seem to be aware of.  I believe that people who don't have the courage, means or brains to do something about the real problems in Aruba need someone else to blame:  Beth, Nancy, Natalee, Greta.   Then it's not their fault that THEY haven't said or done anything to address the problem.  Some might truly have reason to be afraid.  The rest are cowards.

To your question whether Joran told me what he had told Freddy, I can say the following. Joran told me that he had told Freddy the truth and the story that was made up. I know that he trusts Freddy more because they have known each other for a long time. If you go and talk to Freddy, he will tell you the made up story and maybe also the truth.

It strikes me as so odd.  Is it not an automatic reaction to wipe sand off of yourself when you get up, or get it on yourself?  

They could have very well been burying her or moving her, thus all in the sand.

With both of them mentioning the sand, maybe it is one shred of truth in their lies.

What if.... Deepak lets them out of the car, (waits for them) Joran takes Nat to the beach, rapes her, she has a reaction to the drugs they gave her, he drags her, both of them covered in sand to the car, they hit her head when putting her in the car - thus sand and also the blood spatters on the headliner.  She passes - they panic - and quickly hide the body to be picked up later to be disposed of ...

Yes, Nadira told KG that Satish wants to be a doctor and is working hard to get out of high school so he can go to medical school.  I wonder if they have to pass an exit exam to get out of high school.  Hasn't he been there for a few now?

Paul also said to Joran that we should stay put and that he would come and pick us up. Joran had misunderstood him and we drove to his house. At that moment I heard Joran say “What the f*** is up with/wrong with this bitch”. My vote:  It's a made up story to explain away the odd & obsessive car-cleaning (which in reality was evidence eradication).  The "Joran almost faling into the water" too much info and may actually have happened at another point in time that he knew about.

Ono, you may be right.  I didn't see that interview, and may not have read the transcript.  Thus, my interpretaton that it was said in jest.
