So why was Steve Croes arrested?

Good evening.  I know there was a lot of speculation on why Steve Croes was arrested.  Was there a confirmed reason to what lead the Aruban LE to want to hold him?  I'm just a bit confused.

Steve Croes was arrested because he went to give a statement last week regarding being a witness to the three amigos dropping off Natalee at the Holiday Inn - that he saw her "stagger" from the car.  Little to did the wanna-be-goodfella (Croes) know that the brothers and the little dutch boy were already pointing fingers at eachother, each claiming that they left Natalee with the other.  Not only are the cops not very smart, but neither are the criminals.  Together, they may just bumble in to the truth.  This is from Fox news, a reliable source.
