Rembrandt Pieterzoon Van Rijn. Miller's son I think. Bucked the establishment creatively & etc. Some people on this board have maybe spent long hours reading history, the Durant's and some several good biographiesalong with the academic works on the subject. That Dutch golden age...and a silver one too, or so it was lately called. secure in it's homogenous nature. Similarity of purpose among a numerous middle class...mercantile. Safe? The danger is the easy acceptance of a construct that may be flawed. Like a tulip[ craze .

A society and history more than dotted with genius, I'd say. And with that we hold lineage in the lowlands, our Knickerbocker forefathers bestowed a stubborn and successful practicality on Neu Amsterdam.

So I think their justice system grew to protect against a quick acceptance of an obvious answer. I think that's why it is secretive. They are a reasonable society and seek justice.

I fear something else, the quality that led the authorities to fall so hard for Joran's story and seize the scapegoated innocents. Is that classcism and racism? Those several days and the lost chance for evidence, if that is true may have cost the elites dearly.

Bye now.
