Hi everyone,

Don't have a face but that's ok, I guess.

Interesting to me was to read that Obuber was in FLA when Natalee went missing and immediately didn't want Van Der Straaten on the case..

Makes me wonder why? Was pvds in with both and neither knew about the other, and what does pvds have on each????

Shallow grave - "Texas EquuSearch" team received an in-person tip from an Aruban man who gave them a specific location on the north side of the island within “Arikok National Park” to search. When the team got there, about 100’ from the road they found an open 4’ deep and 6’ long hole that MILLER stated, “certainly looks like a grave site that was possibly dug up.” MILLER also said something “definitely was buried,” the hole was “manmade, remote, had easy access yet hard to see.” He described the 7-12 tipster as white, in his 20’s, 5’ 7”, and 140 pounds, with a dark complexion.

Thank you Spock and Buckeye.

I found the picture I was thinking of that was in the Enquirer.

PG Teresa F. Croes letter > the one from 06 that Klaas/******* posted from the Dutch website.

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o100/Klaasen3/sub2/LetterCroesFernandez1.jpg

I babblefished it and i think this is pretty close to what she writes (in response to the author blaming her and v/d Straten for the failed investigation);

- In the first 8 days of the investigation she was in the NL, not Aruba.

- She was first notified of the disappearance in the late afternoon of June 2nd by the public prosecuter (presumably KJ). At this time she was given no information regarding suspects.

- She was not consulted regarding the 6/5 arrests of the SGs, and learned of it on TV.

- During the period that v/d Straten was in charge of the case she had no contact with him personally or via the telephone regarding the investigation, or anything else.

- By law the public prosecuter (KJ) has control of the case, therefore she had no input concerning the direction of the case, nor any of the arrests.

I feel Van der Straaten never was going to charge J2K.  I also feel Van der Straaten saw a dead Natalee.  Paulus involved Straaten.  I believe it was Van der Straaten who went to court to be put back on the case.  I find that very strange.

Oduber wanted Van der Straten removed from the case immediately but the police union bucked and kept him in regardless of the obvious conflict of interest. Ben King from the Aruba public ministry's office takes a vacation to help out his good pal Paulus and then another bosom buddy Judge Bob Wit shows up at the front door of the Van der Sloot residence to shut down the search.

My question is, did these idiots think nobody would get the connections?

I think by the middle of June that Van Der Straaten did everything he could to help out Paulus and Joran. He gave them 10 days to get there stories straight and to get rid of all the evidence. He hired Dennis Jacobs to do all the dirty work but it wasnt enough. My opinion is that in his mind there were too many witnesses and circumstancial evidence and he would do whatever he could to make sure that Joran was commited to a mental institute and not a prison. I think he thought the evidence was overwelming and it all pointed right at JK2. I think someone stepped in like a Rudy Croes/Oduber to make sure this case never went forward and covered up what Van Der Straaten had no control of..MO

I agree *******. I think this thing started small and just kept mushrooming because too many influential Arubans had a dog in the fight.

Paulus' good friends Van der Straten, Vocking, and Judge Wit were trying to protect the Sloots on a personal level.

Oduber and Rudy were trying to protect tourism and couldn't bear the thought of a dead American girl being murdered and found on their island.

The hotel and casino owners were trying to keep their drug and money laundering interests from being exposed.

So none of them wanted the case solved and especially did not want the FBI involved. Before you know it, it's a full blown cover-up.

Heres a little something I can finally share with y'all - very soon you will start seeing the early stages of crash avoidance systems in the new vehicles.  There are some very impressive things going on right now with these systems, we have some things we are working on that will just knock your socks off (some very very small parts of these systems are already available in production - things such as lane departure warnings)   Its going to be several years yet before the full blown systems are available.  Some things are pending on the governments commitment - or lack of - to fund certain infrastucture that needs to be put in place.  There are other non-government entities also looking into providing the infrastructure needed for the full blown systems.

Blah - thanks for sharing this with us. It sounds very exciting! When you talk about "infrastructure," can you be more specific concerning what that means? TY

trying not to hijack the thread so I will put it very simply - think of very intelligent traffic signals capable of being able to tell that someone might not be able to stop for a red light so it warns the driver and/or vehicle.  If the light is not able to make the vehicle stop safley, it could warn and hold all of the other vehicles at the intersection until the out of control guy goes through, at which time it will probably automatically issue that guy a warning or a ticket if he has a record for running lights.

Think of your vehicle communicating to all of the other vehicles around it.  Think of outposts set up all over the place broadcasting weather conditions and data about the road surface to your vehicle so your vehicle can calculate safe speeds, maintain a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, or be able to calculate an evasive manuever if a situation gets critical.  Your vehicle will actually be able to work out a plan with all of the other vehicles around you, notifying each other of the path they will take in the event they need to avoid a crash or obstacle.

Most of the time, these systems will be making adjustments to your driving behavior long before things get that critical, avoid the crash long before it becomes imminent.

anyhow, this is all just the tip of the iceberg.

That's so very exciting, Blah!  But with teenagers in the house, I wish these systems could be introduced sooner, rather than later.

I think there is a statement from her trasnlated to English saying those exact things Igsigs. What is her position in the government, Attorney General? Why wouldn't she be involved?

Talk about distancing oneself from the investigation. lol > good job TF!

IIRC, DeVries said Teresa sat in on many of the case meeting...and said that enabled the suspects to get access to case information and change their stories accordingly. It is unclear if DeVries directly accuses TF of helping the suspects, or of just causing confusion. The show transcriptions are unclear.
