Good morning.  This morning I am going to drive my daughter to school and get her some breakfast on the way because yesterday she said she would like that. I know she hates the bus.  So because I have no official appointment time in the chemo suite, that's the plan.  Often when my girl sees me, I'm not feeling great and I admit to sleeping alot.  Sleep is good for you.   When she wants nothing more than to spend some time in the car, get some breakfast, how can I turn that down? 

Today should be Chemo #5 for those counting along with me.  I have to run to the lab first so they can get a CBC to check my platelets.  I feel like I have enough so I should be good.  Then it's up the street to the chemo suite to spend the day with all my great nurses, get some hugs & see my doctor.  Yessirree, it's an exciting life I lead.

As much as cancer sucks, I have learned so much.  I've had such interesting conversations.  I have leaned on the support of all of you and you  have not disappointed me.  It makes me smile from the inside out to know that y'all are praying for me and my family.  I can understand how the prayers of others provide strength and courage for Beth and Dave.  And you know what they say "wherever two or more are gathered in His name".....

God bless you all individually and collectively.  Your support is priceless.

Breakfast at McD's was great.  She loves their iced coffee.  And that McGriddle thing.

I'm back home.  Not enough platelets.  I need 100,000 but I only have 31,000.  I can't drop much more or the nurse is talking transfusion.  I told her she'd have to find me!  So Friday morning, I get to have another lab draw to see where I'm at with platelets. 

The best part is my red blood cells were .5 too high for me to get a shot of Aranesp.  Something about my insurance adopting the Medicare guidelines.  What that means is I have to be sicker before they will treat me.  Nice, huh?  Not just my insurance company either.  How inconsiderate of me to get cancer while being a policyholder.  Actually my insurer has been fabulous.  Nothing they've done to me has been cheap and I'm not quite in the poorhouse from it. 

Enough rambling.  I need a nap.  Driving all over three counties to find out I'm too sick for chemo today has worn me plum out.  Smoochies to all.

Pray for platelets.

Peaches:  Thinking of you and praying for you today...So glad you and little peaches got to spend special time together...It's those times that really count.

I will be praying along with the other monkeys for those platelets to rise - I am sure they will...
