I am home from the doctor.  One of the first things he said was that he was a "people reader".  He said if he saw me out in public, in a restaurant somewhere, and didn't know me, he would think "healthy woman".  Says I look great. 

Alrighty then, let's move on to my liver.  He's already consulted a liver specialist who has seen my films etc and feels I am an excellent candidate for RFA...radiofrequency ablation... of that thing on my liver.  I have an appt. with him on the 15th to talk about that.  No biggie.  It's a laparoscopic procedure and this guy's specialty is liver, pancreas, etc.  Bring it on.

Then once I have recovered from the liver procedure, I get to do some more chemo.  Not a show stopper.  Cisplatin and Taxol.  How funny that I was just posting to Jerry about shaving my head when the weather warms up.  Looks like that's gonna happen.  Chemo will be a little different in that my doctor is going to put in an IP (intraperitoneal) port so the heated chemo will be infused directly into my peritoneal cavity.  Dr. is waiting for his new machine to come in that will deliver that type of chemo so it's no biggie that I am not ready to start that kinda chemo yet anyway. 

Cisplatin is another platinum based drug so the fact Dr. is going to use that tells me I am still responding to platinum therapy.  Same with Taxol.  If it hadn't worked in the past or wasn't working anymore, he'd be switching to something else.  These two drugs apparently do a good job when administered via IP, evidently better than when given IV. 

While I am not wild about two more surgical procedures (liver ablation and surgery to install the IP port), it's all good.  My doctor isn't out of ideas and I'm not out of hope.  This IP chemo may be the ticket to a longer remission.  That would be good.  I'm busy.

I have to make sure that I don't let my life revolve around cancer.  Instead, I need to make cancer revolve around MY life.  I have plans.  I'm going to Nashville in July.  I'm going to take my daughter to the beach!  I have books on order from Amazon so my reading list is as behemoth as ever.  I cannot sit around and be sick.  It's boring and it sucks. 

Bottom line for me here this morning is praise the Lord, he is on my side and taking care of me.  I have the BEST doctor and the best DH, the best daughter and best friends any girl could have.  I am much too ornery and feisty to give up now!  God has placed all of you in my life to take care of me and pray for me and love me and you are all doing a wonderful job of it.  I could not do this without each and everyone of you who stops by.  I pray for the best for you all.  God is great all the time.  Thank you for your support.  I love you all.

My heart is bursting reading this from CBB. This message captures all I could ever say or feel about you and your situation. Peaches, your last post lifted me up in a way I did not think possible. I do thank God for the opportunity to know you and to witness his amazing work through you and in you. There have been very few people in my life that I've truly held in extreme high regard and respect, and several of them are posting in this thread. I am praying for you Peaches, always have, always will. You are a blessing and a gift to us all. Keep kicking A sweetie!! We love you!!!!!

Just checking in to check the peaches!  Laughing

I'm thinking about you and have gotten it down to intimate chat sessions with God concerning the Peach! He knows when I enter His Presence and settle in for a while, what we're going to discuss, and His smile is something that I feel within my soul as He invites me to do so. It's getting crowded in there, Peaches! I'm elbow to elbow with all the other monkeys, but I've never been in such good company!

Hello Peaches  I was checking in on you this weekend.  It looks like a plan in the works for you.  I am very encouraged by your doctor saying you look healthy.  That speaks volumes, imo.  {{{{Hugs}}}} and prayers for you Peaches.
