I think it was decided (a long time ago) that Koen's boat was a Sea Pro.

I believe the fish cages are collapsible.

Sea Pros are used here. Big lake here. Sea pros can come right up on shore. It is big enough, not sure about if a cage was used if it would be.
It could be awkward with a cage.  
At the lake last year, was looking at the Sea Pro some young guys had
with this exact thing in mind as Koen's boat was mentioned before last summer.

Koen had two boats, one is a speedboat and one is for fishing.

So we are seeing the fishing boat? Spock are you sure...??? this is the first I'm hearing about a second boat...

In the link to an old FP post that someone(sorry,can't remember who)the heading said Koen's Father's boatS.
Check out that link and the images,I don't know if 2 different boats are showing or the same boat with different lighting.

i think koen's boat was used.I have seen those type boats 20 miles out in the gulf,stupid,and they got home.She is findable,and Red seems to think they know where,I believe him.I never said he was in Fyffe,around 30 miles away,as a crow flies.

Not unless they have moved, he's not.  You're still in Alabama thirty miles away.

They are using more than just sonar from what I have read. You would be amazed at all the equipment they have. I am sure in the near we will hear more about there equipment and the company that is helping TES.

I gotta say I was impressed as heck with how BIG those ships are.I wonder if they have little subs that are able to scan deep in the water,seems they would have to right?Wouldn't real deep water be too deep for diving?I know nothing about diving.

They do have vehicles on those ships and I would imagine they use them for those kinds of depths

I have been on fishing boats off the coast of Aruba.  Depends on the weather where and how far they go, but I've been out in pretty rough seas and they would go out between anywhere between 5-15 miles off the coast...

The whole island is only about 20 miles long so that area would have to be less than 5 miles.  Of course going westward could go on forever, but there have to be some parameters in place for the search.

Adding to the above, I think Koen's boat could make it out, at night, far enough to hit currents taking her away from the island.   There are some places that are just off the coast of some of the islands that are popular (now Lala's will pop in with a Shango on that   )
