Well since It's a little slower today in the forum, I'm going to get some work done.  I'll be working and lurking.

Just for clarification 

I am on high-speed, my point was I use IE or Firefox to access SM, not AOL browser. If I even open standard AOL on my laptop, within minutes SM in either IE or Firefox goes white with blue writing, and I am unable to post, log-out, or log-in?

I just wanted to be sure you understood what was happening, I forwarded Klaas the screenshot. I still think it's wacky this would happen?

I am trying it NONE to see if I can have both open at the same time and retain both screens...will let you know what if anything happens

Do you know much about these so-called choller houses or crack houses?  Are they the same thing?  Are all of them government sponsored or are there also ones by drug addicts not affiliated with the government?

Do you know how they work?  Does a person have to register or can just anybody walk in and stay?

I always though that crack houses were like flop houses. Abandoned bulidings. I doubt if they have a registration system like the HI Express.

oh Dugga one more thing  but I know the devil is in the details - I can have multiple tabs with multiple sites open, but it's only SM that goes white and freezes? all the rest work fine?

I saw the screenshot and see what's happening now. In your case, there is a connection problem between your ISP and the new server. May be on your ISP's side, may be on the network's end where we host SM's servers, but most likely it's somewhere in-between. You can get a few pages for a few minutes, but then intermittently when you try to load another page there's some packet loss between you and us. You see some of the data, but not everything needs to load to render the page correctly. The reason it's doing it in all of your browsers is because it's not related to your browser. It's related to the internet connection you're using, and it's connection to us.

I hate to be one of those people who cops out, but quite literally in cases like this, you generally just have to ride it out. If there's a faulty route, the internet is designed to (eventually) route around problem areas... Just think of it as a wreck on the freeway. It slows traffic down, sometimes to a halt. That bottleneck you're having due to packet loss is manifesting itself on your side as a white screen because the style sheets and graphics aren't loading or being confirmed from our end.

If it's still doing it a week from now, there might be a problem, but what you're seeing isn't an issue that's programming related most likely.

Hi Dihannah, not sure when chat will be made available.

I ran into some technical issues with the chat implementation. The chat server works fine, but the module that implements chat seamlessly into the forums has some incompatibilities with this version of SMF. I plan to work on that soon, even if it means creating a homebrew solution. It's not far off, though - honest.
