Here we go again. Tip of the iceberg. Tom Daniels lives in Citrush Heights, CA and is a foster parent. First allegationsbrought to Sacto DA in 2008, insufficent evidence. Now held on allegedly multiple counts of child abuse.
For those of you who did indepth research in the Sandra Cantu case, word to the wise, you might just want to resurrect your social network and scan it deeply, all his FB etc. have been removed from the net, as the arrest was on Dec 9th, and the PD kept it quiet until end of year so they could continue investigations.
RIO LINDA —
First Baptist Church of Rio Linda senior pastor Tom Daniels was arrested December 9th. According to records at the Sacramento County Jail, he is facing one charge of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, and another charge for engaging in multiple sexual assaults of a child.
The news that a possible pedophile was in their midst was upsetting enough to rio linda residents, but many are also asking why no one told them that the arrest had been made.
Ryan Gonzales just welcomed baby Lily home last month, "How come no one's letting us know about this stuff?"
The pastor was arrested not in Rio Linda, but in Citrus Heights and the Citrus Heights Police Department says it is not ready to release any further information about the investigation...only that it is ongoing.
More information about the case and the threat to the Rio Linda community could be coming out as early as next week. For those that live just feet from the church's front door, these will be long days coming.
A defacto church spokesman says he believes the allegations relate to actions that happened more than five years ago, which is when Daniels became the pastor at the First Baptist Church in Rio Linda.
Daniels' Bail has been increased from one million dollars to six million
