We go to a lot of concerts. Does anyone else??

Fortunately, Miami is on most of the 'tours', so our options are extensive.

We'll also incorporate a 'few vacation days' and get tickets to an out of town event.

Our next concert is this Thursday (August 2) at the Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Hollwoood, FL.

HippiefestSmile)

A Concert For Peace & Love Starring:
The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, The Zombies featuring Colin Blunstone & Rod Argent, Mountain featuring Leslie West & Corky Laing, Mitch Ryder, Badfinger featuring Joey Molland & Country Joe McDonald

Sounds like a great concert Sharon enjoy! Leslie West, another great guitar player!  Nantucket Sleighride is one of my all time favorite songs. Not sure if it will sound the same without Felix Papilardi........but great anyway

Mrs Red --

I've been to one concert in Atlanta, and that was a very very very long time ago. Very Happy

I had a girlfriend from work who was living in Atlanta -- I was still living up north -- and we were going thru the 'stage' that trouble seemed to find us wherever we went (I think we may have helped, though)

Georgia Tech Stadium -- full to the brim and then some since there was standing allowed all over the field -- July 4th weekend -- The Atlanta Rhythm Section -- Champagne Jam tour. Probably 1978 or so.

Were you born yet?? Razz Razz

I remember them, but I didn't live in Atlanta during their hey day.... I liked them though....

I was in high school....  Laughing I'm not as young as I talk!

Another concert I loved was
CAKE - although I don't think many people here have probably heard of them.. Sad

I've heard of CAKE Mrs R -- but have never seen them or bought any of their music.

iirc -- the band members changed frequently? If you had to suggest a song of theirs to listen to  -- which would it be??

It's not that you 'talk young'....I just can't imagine anyone being older than me Very Happy  Very Happy

My very first 'concert' was Blood, Sweat & Tears. At Fairleigh Dickinson University. I was a sophomore or junior in high school. I saw James Taylor later that same year.

I was hooked. I've lost count as to how many concerts I've attended. It is also one of the big things that DH and I have in common (although not always the same music).

I guess I will truly date myself here.  My first concert was what was known in Alabama as "The Shower of Stars".  It was sponsored by the local radio station WVOK in Birmingham.  They had several different acts and were always the hottest ones at the time.  Now, I was quite young when I went to my first one, I guess about 12 or 13.  We rode the bus over to Birmingham.  It was safe then.  It was a two week event.   That was the year of the British invasion. First week was British acts and the next week was the pop groups from America.  I saw all the hot 60's groups. Tommy James and the Shondells, Lou Christie, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, Billy Joe Royal, Steppenwolf, Joe Cocker, and let's not forget my first big huge super giant crush...Paul Revere and the Raiders with Mark Lindsay.  I have forgotten more than I remember but I still have that very first ticket stub.

Ticket to Shower of Stars:  $2.50
Memories: Priceless

My REAL very first concert -- my bff's parents took us into the Village for our 8th Grade graduation -- and we went to "Cafe Wha' where there was a guy on stage by the name of Neil Diamond....

For anyone interested.......

Bruce Springsteen and E Street going on tour to promote new album. There are dates in Europe as well following the list below (I did not post those dates)

DH was the fan -- I was not -- until I started attending his concerts in mid 2001.

Now I 'dream' of The Boss  Very Happy Very Happy

We've picked the first one we'll attend -- will probably attend more than one. Nothing in Florida so far Sad But when he did the Devils and Dust tour -- he added more US venuses once he returned from Europe.

(If you don't like The Boss -- please scroll past  Laughing)

I saw your post about the Genesis concert Mum. My DH loves Genesis.

Have a great time.

Our next concert is Springsteen and E Street in Philadelphia early October.

He has no dates in South Florida -- although maybe he will add a few when he gets back from the European leg (that's what he did on his Devils & Dust tour). We try to get to 2 - 3 different shows each tour.

I have never caught Mellencamp (Johnny Cougar  Laughing ) -- how awesome that must have been.

One day -- I should sit down and try to make a list of all the concerrts we've gone to.

Looking forward to your feedback next week.

(I'm so glad someone else goes to concerts -- and admits it  Laughing Laughing Laughing)

My DH will go to just about any concert, but what's really neat is that DD and a friend or two have been joining us the last few years. And loving it I might add. Very Happy
