We were "not" at the swooning ....

Thanks.

A1

I hope a good night sleep was were it was at.  Life problems always seem soooo overwhelming when we are tired.

Thanks...my kids are my life..I'm home all day and night but when ever they see me...it's like I just came home from the office in the old days...of course they are still very young so that might change when I have to lock them up once they reach teen years..I'm very nervous about the girls growing up..I'll have to pretend I'm a driver and escort them once they start dating..in around 30 years or so

Anyway....I hope you are feeling better today ! I didn't mean to make you cry so I found another happy song for you...keeping on topic  A good drive always helps to clear the mind and I'm happy to see you a bit more cheerful today.

Later in the show the stadium went wild.  Teenage girls were screaming and ... swarmed the stage.  Elvis had to be taken away prior to the end of the show.

It was a memory that has never faded.

WOW...you got to see him in the very early years...I've only seen video of him leaving, or should I say, running for his life after the shows in the 70's ...I can't imaging having to live like that every day...I don't think I'd want to... well...maybe just a few girls chasing would be fun

Thanks for sharing the story..perhaps your mom collected some memorabilia or photo's you may want to share

No ... nothing.  However ... I have some of Evis 45's records.  You probably do not have clue what I am talking about.

I grew up with Elvis singing in the background.

 I was just a ten year old kid in 1957 when my mother took me to see Elivis at the Empire Stadium at PNE Park in Vancouver.  We went on the bus with my friend and her mother.  We were at the swooning stage but ... I do believe it was our mothers who were smitten.

Anyways ... I had these kid binoculars that I was looking through when the convertible  carrying Elivis drove around the track on his entrance.  Elvis was sitting on the trunk with feet on the back seat.   Anyways ... with the binoculars he was thinkclose.

Later in the show the stadium went wild.  Teenage girls were screaming and ... swarmed the stage.  Elivis had to be taken away prior to the end of the show.

It was a memory that has never faded.

  I'm not that young...I have quite a few 45's and 33's...my mom hasn't found me any 78's yet but that's kinda good...I don't have a turn table that will play them and it took me forever to find the one I have..  God help me tho if I ever have to buy/find a needle for it..

I have a combination player:

* 78/45 Adaptable Turntable
* Eight Track
* Cassette Tape

I also have combination player:

* Cassette Tape
* Compact Disc (CD)

I very seldom use the first player.  For special occassions ... the kid have take it upon themselves to replace most of hubby and my favorite music with CDs.

Eldest son is a antique nut so ... he has put a claim on all our records.

When we heard the news that Elvis had died, we went to a music store in the Altamonte Mall. There were reporters everywhere & Elvis albums were sold out. My Mom & my Aunt were interviewed by the Sentinel & my Mom told her story about meeting Elvis in 1954!

SEA, REMEMBER THE AUTOGRAPHED TSHIRT AND TENNIS SHOES? See the last paragraph!
