Hey Klaas,
Any word on when the water search will begin? TIA
Crazymom
- someone reported at BFN that it won't be until October now. Not sure of all the details. I think Red will have more information some time this week.
GOODNIGHT ALL!
And how did I know that would happen? I personally don't think it will ever take place. I want it to, very badly, but.....things just keep getting in the way.
I agree.
Good Morning Everyone

Hard not to get a little disillusioned about that search. I’m sure there are many obstacles to overcome, but it is starting to look a little hopeless.

Good Morning Easy. It's such a disappointment. I should know better and not get disappointment but you just can't help thinking that something might go this families way for once.

Yeah, it's like Dave said very early on they just couldn't get a break and that theme continues. I so hoped the deep water search would discover something that would make a difference in all of this. Now, I wonder if it will ever even happen. The Dutch will probably make some generic statement next month and then wipe their hands of the whole thing and that will be that. Unless a drunk Joran spills his guts to the wrong person one of these days.
I know none of those people have any normal feelings, but I hope a higher power puts Natalee into their dreams night after night after night until it slowly drives them mad.......

Good Morning everyone-
This has been my fear for two years frankly, for Holland simply isn't a country that seems to give a flip regarding anything external to their country or their outposts in the Antilles. They don't give a flip about Saddam or Oosama, why would they care about one murder? I don't mean to minimalize Natalee in any way but sadly, I believe anything and all that has been done to date was for tourism's sake. No other reason.

Yep, some bad choices were made for the sake of tourism and then it shifted into CYA mode.
Been thinking about this Lorenzo thing and doesn't "private mediation" sound a whole lot like a plea bargain?

Easy you are exactly right, none of this matches but then Arlene and Cohen and all the others that were trotted out to LIE were nothing but spin and PR. There is no truth in happy Aruba, only drugs and porn and decadence. THAT is why Natalee isn't with us today, the culture there worships and thrives on all things dark and decadent.
Hence people like Renfro and Charles Croes are 'somebody' there, they are part of this newer regime. I think this is exactly what Jossy has been fighting and also so angry about, I am sick of hearing others portray it as his own dark motivations. I think he's watched this island become a festering cesspool of no leadership with character, and whatever rings your bell - drugs, porn, even kidnapping and murder. I'd leave if it were me but I don't have businesses there to protect as he does.

He has said many times it is not the place he once loved.
I noticed several at the other boards were talking about their annual trips to Aruba coming up. My first thought was that is another very good reason not to go to that island! lol

I am sorry but that is nonsense. We don't give a flip about Saddam or Osama? Right, tell that to the parents/famlly of Tom Krist, Jos Leunissen, Timo Smeehuijzen, Cor Stirk, Robert Donkers, Dijkstra, Michael Donkervoort, Jan van Twist, Bart van Boxtel, Dave Steensma and Jeroen Severs, dutch men who laid down their lives for the cause in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Tell that to the dutch troops who served in Iraq (like my brother in law), tell the dutch troops who now serve in Afghanistan, tell that to the dutch special forces hunting Osama in the hills of Afghanistan or our army/navy/airforce around the world fighting the war on Terror.
And FYI, the internal problems of Aruba are not something the Netherlands (because there is no Holland) can fix or alter.

Thank-you for that. It seems people are a little gloomy this morning. There are still a few of us here that
do
think the Dutch are going to solve this -- we just have to be patient. After 2+ years, they cannot come in and simply wrap things up in a few months. They must do everything 100% accurate and get things
right
. It is very hard to follow this case and not be frustrated -- I certainly understand the pessimism here.

Ramm-
I will tell my late husband who went over in the first wave of the Gulf War, I do pray to him. I also think the level of commitment that Holland has made to the middle east strife is far and away from that of the US, England, even Austrailia. It's not a personal slam at you or your family, it's unfortunate you take it as such. For that I'm sorry, just as I won't take insult my Rick likely died of cancer due to his exposure to spent uranium from missle casings, ok?
I won't touch on the impact the open immigration policy in Holland has had on the rise of radical muslim factions, that's a whole other story, and well documented. Maybe SB can come and speak to some of this, he like me actually does care about the global impacts of the country in which our World Court resides has created at least in part. No country is immune Ramm,
the US takes a beating for every decision me make that is good or bad
, GLOBALLY we are bashed without end. Sorry but some of you need to toughen up, it isn't always about you, but sometimes about issues far beyond you.
I have been to three cities in Holland at various times in my life, and twice to Aruba.
I appreciate the work on the translations you've done Ramm but there's a reason I don't post at BFN, I chose not to tangle with you there, I'd ask you to please put me on ignore here, Thank you.

Good morning Monks!
Astute observation! It is a shame they didn't choose to mediate with the perps in Natalee's case. Aruba could have saved themselves some money.
