ummmmmmmm.......I do not mean to be stupid, but I do not even understand how to practice, lmao.  WTF am I suppose to do?? LOL!!

First I think I'd read through the entire thread and see how the thought process went.  Look around and see what buttons you see now that you couldn't see before.

Practice locking and moving threads.  You can create a new thread with some "dummy" posts then move, split do whatever to it.

I have an OLD training document I put together for Dragonfly years ago that I could update and send.  It may take me a day or so to update it but I'll see what I can do.

I realize, now, that I should have saved your 'locked' pic to my photobucket, so the page would look like yours & or San's...I did modify the new NCD thread by fixing the date, because Blonde had left it 7/....that was easy....I then added the end date to #763....not sure when I can get back to practice, because at this time of day, everyone wants to be on this PC...I think I get the drift on everything except moving & splitting....

I was all ready to switch before when you didn't seem to be around, then you came back & I got interrupted...funny how we both were locking, but I did see that the new was open.....

What she means is go to Klaas' post in the beginning of the thread and hit modify.  It opens up the post and all you have to do is copy what you need.  What I usually do is copy the entire post and then I click the back button to get out of the post because I'm not really changing her post.  I go to the new thread and I paste the info that I copied for my new thread.  I also hit the additional options button and I select Lock this popic and Sticky this topic.  Then I hit Post.

After doing it, I made some notes. I'm putting them here for safe keeping:

CHANGING THREADS:
Post Lock Warning on page 45
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/crazybabyborgs/1LOCK.gif (add IMG brackets)

CREATE A NEW THREAD:
1.   Go out of discussion to the index page of the topic you’re in. (Where the lists of all the past Natalee Discussions or past Monkey Musings etc. are). The users are at the top of the list in blue.

2.   Click the NEW TOPIC tab at the upper left of the lists.

3.   Type in the new topic: ex: “Natalee Case Discussion #684 9/20-“

4.   Paste the appropriate picture in the reply box and the following text:
Natalee: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/crazybabyborgs/NF.gif (add IMG brackets)
Let’s Hope For Justice in 2008

Monkey Musings:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/crazybabyborgs/mb1.gif (add IMG brackets)
This thread will be like the old LCD thread.  We only request that if you have actual news, photos or pertinent facts on specific cases you post in the proper area.

5.   Under Additional Options, check the boxes for “sticky” and “lock”.

6.   Go back to the thread you were on.

7.   On page 49, go unlock the thread you created. ( Go into the thread. There is a tab on the lower left that says “Unlock Topic

8.   On page 50, post this picture:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c100/crazybabyborgs/MOD/lock1.gif (add IMG brackets)

Type: “Please move to (ex):“Natalee Case Discussion #684”(or Musings)

Post the shortcut to new thread (in address bar) for the new thread you created under picture.

Lock the thread: (Lower left of discussion page has some tabs. LOCK TOPIC is one of them.)

Bumped for 2NJSons! By the way, CONGRATS to the new moderators! Great choices

You're going to LOVE it! As a modifier, you can MODIFY!!! When you do things like unknowingly offer a Christmas avi to a poster of the Jewish faith, you can remove it as you crawl under a rock! One word of warning...............Klaas can have a sadistic sense of humor! I was about to change threads for the first time, and asked Klaas if she would be there to fix it in case I screwed up. She said she'd laugh her azz off first, and then would fix it!

I posted the above quote after I changed a thread for the first time, so it might be a good place to start. There are other pictures for beginning a thread than those listed, but if you can do it with those, you can do it with any of them.

Thank you, San, CBB, Blonde....I will try to get some practice in later.....Seems like I was making it more complicated in my mind than what it is.

I'm not sure if I've posted this for the Musings Thread, but if any of the new Mods want it, here it is. The typed text is already there, so no need to type it in.

The only time it's even sort of easy is when you only have to remove one or two posts from a thread.  Moving it once it's split isn't so hard but splitting is harder, for me anyway.

On T4N we created a new fourm, then took posts over one at a time, because sometimes posts get lost and posters get mad.

Example:from Klass

1.  Click on one of Joran's statements to open it.  Scroll down to the very bottom of the thread and click on MOVE.

2.  In the "drop down" choose Joran Statements/PV's.

3.  UNCHECK the redirect box

4.  Submit
Where is that darn drop down to tell the post were to go.

BLONDE - I'm talking about clicking on MOVE at the very bottom of the screen below the thread.  You don't have to go into the first post and modify, you can do it from the very bottom:
