Sunfreak you raise all the right questions, the issue is larger than just Holland in some respects however. I can remember being in London in 1973 with my mother at the Savoy Hotel, and seeing frontal nudity on many TV shows as well as words and phrases still banned by our censors for daytime TV today.

The US is much more provincial than many countries in northern Europe, what is different is that Holland makes a living in a larger way from pornography, prostitution,  and also other white collar crimes such as internet hacking. There is a certain level of acceptance there you cannot find in many other countries.

Holland also has the highest rate of incest for northern Europe currently, but to be fair the US ranks in the top ten as well globally. They simply do not have the same sensibilities we do regarding the protection against exploiting women and children, nor does Aruba.

I do however think Aruba is the red headed stepchild that Holland can't even control, hence the threats recently to renege on the charter to allow Aruba eventual independence. It's their island of misfits, Holland has allowed some of their problem children in Holland to ship out to Aruba, and also to join forces with some of the underbelly that already existed there.

I also suspect much of the illegal activity on or around Aruba lines the pockets of Queen Beatrix's robes, if not directly then indirectly.

The picture is far too ugly for there to be any real resolution as we understand justice and resolution. It is a huge landscape of sex, lies and videotapes.

Janssen cut her deal with Holland early on, I don't think she's beholding to Paulus but likely sees him as the ball and chain she has to carry, to toe the party line. I also think she's had free reign to 'write this story' as she sees fit, one chapter at a time, just as long as she delivered the desired outcome of no trial and no admission of guilt.

Klaas is framing it out correctly, it is one huge picture of deceit, cover-up, and corruption. Bigger than we'd like to know or hope to understand.

Even Kowgirls Get the Blues?

Nice work, Karin, you made the team. Take a look around, you are one of them now, no mistake. Must be a great feeling. Stay on the island with the rest of them. Call Angela, Nadira, Rubberlegs and a few more and daisy chain on the Wyndham lobby carpet if you like,  but worry just a little. You know what they are capable of. Maybe some day something really terrible happens to your family and…well you know.

Try Holland. No problem. Friends, people you meet, colleagues…you square right up and look ‘em dead in the eye with your cold bitch stare because you would sell out their babies just to make your day go smoother.

Some cringing, self effacing little weasel offers you a ride home from say an Abba tribute or whatever, you hop right in. Meet up with a big friendly blockhead at a fun bar someplace and let him get you a drink. Drink deep, Karin. You earned it.

By the way, is there a way you guys recognize each other? I mean is it like werewolves or something? Just wondered, it’s hard for us, look how long you played it out.

Anyway, thanks again and we’ll be looking for you. You have a great future… any kids?

Hat - great to see you!

Do you have any feel for the NY case?  How do you feel JQK's chances are of getting the case heard in NY?

Hey Klaas, sorry for the re hash post, but I still feel that way.
As to the NY case, I do not give it a huge chance. I base that on the time element shown by the judge. My thinking is if the judge had it as a NY case the ruling would have come down already. May be a huge stack of files on that judges desk though.

I wonder with what Kelly said tonight, if the posts that were quoted today by sharon were accurate... about the 60-day NY case time limit and all, and the jurisdictional deal as well. He does NOT sound like he has the thing in the bag like we were thinking today.

And hi spooky, wherever you are!

Maybe with all our Monkeys getting back from their vacations, we can start getting down to BUSINESS again!

Yep, you are probably right but I'm hoping it's the stack of files instead.  I was also wondering if she was waiting to find out if this witness was real.

I guess I could give the NY case a little better chance than my favorite team, Portugal, in that Copa Mundial Kickball thingy.

IF that 60-day thing is correct though, it could mean that the judge wants discovery to go forward WITHOUT having to make a ruling... no precedent is established (or violated) and Beth gets her day in court against Joran et al.

I'm pretty sure at the end of two years the HT's would get an empty file folder that has only a few coffee stains and some Frosted Flake crumbs in it.   Evil or Very Mad Paulus and KJ would have that thing scrubbed so clean by them as to be perfectly useless.

Hat,
Yikes!  Feeling must not be back yet.   Shocked Voice of experience saying those things CAN hurt.  Hope you are fast asleep so you don't feel it if yours is going to do that.   Sad

SB,
Did no one transcribe Greta tonight?  I think mostly JQK said the witness was lying and implied it was good the judge was taking so long.  Greta was sort of iffy about whether or not that was a good sign.
