As a child I was extremely shy.  In this modern age my shyness would have been deemed a disability and I would have been sent off to shy boot camp.  But, back in those days it was just “he’s shy” period.

Eventually, I overcame the crippling shyness and discover there is not a living organism on this planet more important than my brief time in this life.

Now, I am a vindictive asshole that will go to great lengths to bust the chops of bullies across the internet.  And, you-know-who is in my cross-hairs.

I was very shy too

I went thru a shy period in my life.
But I am mostly over it.
When I was a kid, I was the drama star of my school ( on the stage ).
I was good. The people from the Theatre School here tried to recruit me, but my Dad said : No Freaking WAY ! Poopy Dad !
Now my " stage " is comedy routines at work and the grandkiddos.
Ah, what might have been ! ! I could have been famous ! Wink Wink

Hello Monkeys
Just dropping in to check on the latest news .
I notice in our local paper the space craft is being brought back to earth a day earlier because of the hurricane.  Prayers for a safe landing for all.
Have they any idea where the hurricane is headed at present?

Parents had a dampening effect on their children's plans in my day also.  I was not permitted to leave home and live away to study my chosen career, so took up accountancy which meant I could remain living "safely" at home for longer.

Angie - Happy Birthday and hope you had an enjoyable day.

Church I got nervous  to sing.. but was up in a balcony..  Not many peope paid attention.  Whewwwwwwwwwwww. Yes, my Dad was very strict when it came to me, cause I was a GIRL ! And, also because I was very shall we say adventurous ?
( Parents said bad bad bad, but I was a creative thinker Smile

My GD who is just now 9 is also a " creative thinker " . I look at her and some of her silly antics and I am reminded of myself at that age.

Looks like they are going to have a press conference soon in Utah:

http://www.ksl.com/?sid=1657667&nid=165

Actually that looks like an old link for when they were originally going to have it.  After that they said around 9pm ET but it hasn't happened yet.

Yes it was the fact that I was a girl.  Girls had to be protected and boys could have all the freedom they wished.  Most unfair.  Boys were not considered to be in danger in those days. but with all that is now coming to light about molestation from church and school officials it seems they were just as vulnerable.

Thanks, Klaas.  That is just so sad for the families.  Our local news said they most like would suspend or cancel the search.  What the families would be going through - you would always wonder if there had been any hope.

The 4th hole, the 9in hole has broken through.  That is what the press conf is supposed to be about.  It's been postponed a couple times now.  It's their best chance to find them and see if any are still alive.

I know.. isn't it sad that for so long it was taken for granted that boys were just fine... didn't need any sheltering

Mrs. Red - thought about you last night.  On the late news they said something about a shoe store that was soooo big that it had it's own zip code.  Didn't stay up long enough to find out where it was though, LOL

I have a question and I can't find anyone in any of the other threads. Was Paulus on Aruba when the MB kids arrived?
