ST. PAUL, Minn. - Pounded and strained by heavy traffic and weakened by missing bolts and cracking steel, the failed interstate bridge over the Mississippi River also faced a less obvious enemy: pigeons.
 
Inspectors began documenting the buildup of pigeon dung on the span near downtown Minneapolis two decades ago. Experts say the corrosive guano deposited all over the Interstate 35W span's framework helped the steel beams rust faster.

My DH worked for a municipality that had workers removing/cleaning such from a bridge overpass....complaint was filed because no protective gear was given to the workers....mask, overclothing, gloves...not only is it dangerous for deterioration, but it's a health hazard.

The article was added on to Trenton Duckett's thread in the M & E earlier today.  It seems like these cases happen, there is news for a short time and then nothing can be found even in a search.  Then sometimes something will pop up.  There are still too many missing, with too many questions and not enough answers.  Trenton has been missing a year now, right?  Terrible.  Anna, we've been around so long we've gotten to know their names...   But I wonder if we'll ever know their fates?  Or if there will ever be justice for them.

I also found this  of an 11 yr old girl... My gawd she has a beautiful voice.. she sounds like an adult !!

After I read that article about Bill Murray, I went on the web and looked up "Caddyshack" and read the memorable quotes. There were some pretty funny ones in there imo

I love "Stripes".  He enlists.  Has John Candy and Harold Ramis.  I love Bill Murray.  Remember Todd and Lisa from SNL?

School in my county started August 6th. 

The first week of school, it was so hot some middle school teachers baked cookies outside in a parked car.

MESA, Ariz. —  An Arizona woman has been charged with suspicion of first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing her estranged husband in the chest during sex, MyFOXPhoenix.com reports.

Falon Gonzales, 23, was released on $100,000 bond after being booked Tuesday night, according to the report.

Her husband, Juan Carlos Gonzales, 26, fled to neighbor Tony Ballard's home on West Stanford Avenue in Gilbert, Ariz., after the attack.

"I've never had a naked man run to my house bleeding, you know what I mean?" Ballard told MyFOXPhoenix.com.

Ballard told MyFOXPhoenix.com that the couple was in the middle of sex when the alleged attack occurred.

"She was on top and she reached out of a bag and pulled a knife out of a bag and drove it into his chest," Ballard said of the incident.

"She apologized first," the neighbor told MyFOXPhoenix.com. "She said 'Juan, I'm sorry about this.'"

Juan Carlos Gonzales was transported to Scottsdale Osborn Healthcare hospital with a collapsed lung and was listed in serious condition.

Authorities said Juan Gonzales moved out of the couple's home about a month ago and asked to meet his wife and a home appraiser Tuesday afternoon. He later showed Falon Gonzales dissolution of marriage papers.

Falon Gonzales told police that she hid a kitchen knife in a duffel bag at the home with a plan to harm her husband and stabbed him with it after luring him into the bathroom.
