I think you should put a copy of this post in the Musing thread.  I know certain people over there call for any good news on the troops or the war to be deleted but the hell with them.

Nut thank you for bringing this to SM.  When I was traveling a lot, I would see our men and women in armed services at airports, and would often approach  to talk to them, ask  about family and things and see if I could buy  lunch.  If nothing else, thank them.
