The only 'confirmation' I have seen is by those of us on the blogs who believe it is him. 

JuJu and Truthseeker ... there has been no official confirmation but ... it is not only those posting on blogs that are questioning the identity of the man recorded conversing with Natalee at the black jack table.

DANA: When you look at this case, a question keeps coming up. I am looking at the picture on my PC. It is the alleged picture of a person in the casino with Natalee that looks a lot like Paul. Has there been any update on this issue?

JOSSY: There have not been any change of opinion. People, including people in the casino say that is Paul.

What would the odds be that in a nation of about 70,000 people, a guy that looked exactly like someone who has a hand in Natalee's disappearance walked in and sat down next to Natalee, a few hours before the other guy made her disappear?

There is no doubt that is Paulus.

I agree, but if you want to make it 'stick' you have to have a better pic.  Even if the chances are one in a million some would say that is enough to raise doubts.  A better pic could seal the deal.  While we may not have one I bet someone in Aruba does.

oh I agree, that picture might not hold up in a court, but common sense says its Paulus.  Should be easy enough to prove whether it is him or not by looking at more video(s) or through witnesses, cell records, credit card charges, etc...

COSBY: You know, Steve, have you heard these claims that, in this video—there’s this surveillance video that we saw in the casino that was showed a while back—that Paulus Van Der Sloot may be in the casino actually even talking to Natalee. And what we just heard from John, it doesn’t sound like that was asked of him before, if he actually even engaged in some conversation with her that night.

Well, like I said, I believe it is Paulus.  Just wish we had more proof.  Someone besides the three amigos was involved in this.  The idea that Natalee died accidently and the kids panicked would make more sense if they were actually saying that's what happened and then showed the authorities where they buried her.  People, even us, could have understood that.  We wouldn't like it, but it would be at least understandable.  But that did not happen.

Instead we have lie after lie.  In two of the lies Natalee is said to have fallen and hit her head.  Sounds like she did sustain a head injury but I doubt it was from an accidental fall.  Again, someone else is involved, someone who desperately does not want to be discovered.  The body had to be hidden so that an autopsy could never been done which would provide too many clues as to what really happened and who was with her. 

Yeah, I think ole sweaty Poppa Sloot is involved and could very well have been involved from the very beginning...not just for the cover up.

Lala's it's my understanding that it was agreed that Shango/Simian is part of the NH case and is OK to discuss here.  Probably a good idea to have a separate thread still for serious Shango/Simian discussion but quoting here when it pertains is NOT A PROBLEM.

All very good questions.

We have been TOLD that the family will be given the records, but that came from Aurba and Dutch 'experts', so who really knows.  Even if the family gets information how would they ever know if they received it all.  That's the 'beauty' of secret societies. 

Aruba may want to keep the case open because if they close it without a definitive resolution tourism will not recover any time soon.  This way it appears they are trying to solve it.

Bachus is a politician.  Politicians attach themselves to the issue du jour.  Natalee has faded from the headlines and Bachus has moved on.
