The second weekend
February 12 2005

The second weekend was great too! From work straight to the Paddock where we had a few drinks, then off to a steak house. That food proved to be a good basis for the night out. In the Paddock we met heaps of people including some surfdudes who re-named Ilse and I, modepopje (fashionista) and surfchick respectively. Ilse already scored free wind surf lessons. Good on ya girl! I scored some free snorkeling lessons, but hey, I'd rather go scubadiving or windsurfing Wink

Later that night we went to Carlos 'n Charlies where we found out what dancing really means here in Aruba. Turns out that white girls can dance (after a 1,5 meter cocktail of course). The next night was just as great

Sandwich in the Carlos 'n Charlies with Joran

She was in Aruba:

must be getting tired...can't seem to figure out what year this is> (found it on a goole search) http://145.37.208.76/160503/

According to other photos in Aruba it was 2004.

So loverboy was at C&C's in 2004...he would have been 16.

I'm sorry to "requote" myself, but I really want to know what you all think about that article that was posted. It's long so I won't repost it, but:

If I understand this correctly, Aruba will decide if further assisitance is needed from the Netherlands to determine if they will proceed to prosecute this case or let it go? WTF!?

If Aruba gets to decide, why did the Netherlands even bother coming to Aruba? That's like giving the fox the keys to the chicken coup. There is a criminal corruption case to made against ALE, and I'm just sure that they will overlook that in order to pursue justice. There is SO much to lead to THAT conclusion!

Am I missing something here?

Oh yeah, that goes sure happened! Believe me. That hell is going break loose soon, inside a year.
Well, I know some investigators been good, but KLPD?
I only know they work good, in child porn cases and crimes again children.

I am glad hear this media attention from the Netherlands. ‘Recherche verdraait informatie te vaak’
Investigators in a black breach and again a bad name of the Dutch police. It smells again to Corrpution and a negative researching in missing persons cases

CBB, the reason why the Netherlands came to Aruba was because Rudy Croes invited them.  At the end of the day it is the Aruban prosecutor who will make the final decision whether to prosecute or not.  In my opinion that prosecutor will listen to anything Rudy Croes tells them to do.

Rudy Croes is corrupt.

I hope you're right, Klaas!

It absolutely burns me up! The "press coverage" could damage their island!? The FACT that a murdered tourist has been IGNORED and COVERED UP by their own Police Department IS NOT the hurtful thing to their island, Oh NO! The press coverage of the event is the problem!

The FACT that there are page after page of DOCUMENTED lies by the last known suspects to be with Natalee is no problem at all, as long as there is no one there to report it!

This island has to be convinced by some force, that furthering the "sweep under the rug" strategy is NOT the path to restoring their tourism trade. BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT, until these idiots decide to hold Natalee's life in worthy regard! No one has ever suggested that horrible crimes only happen on that island. BUT, for the love of God, go after the truth and follow the path of Justice wherever it honestly leads!

OH, SAN! Say it ain't so! Please, Please, Please!
We have got to do something! Beth's book will be out by then, maybe it will stir up enough outrage that they'll finally give up this path of denial and cover-up and finally hold those responsible accountable for what they've done!

I really think they believe it would be worse for them to reveal the truth than to just try to keep the lid on it. What can we do to convince them otherwise?

I am not going to lose any sleep over the November rumor because Aruba has NEVER held to any deadline or timeframe that they have set, not ONCE, since the beginning of the case.

They will do as much of nothing as they can get away with. Stall, delay, hinder and confuse. Indefinitely. That's what they do. They want this to drag out forever and fade from view.

If you all are awaiting ARUBA to do the right thing -- you will be sorely disappointed! The only way this will come to fruition (and it IS coming) is when the KLPD AND the FBI expose the corruption.

if it's left to aruba, that's exactly what they'll do.  hopefully the article is a pipedream and the klpd and holland will remain in charge.  aruba does have a new prosecutor and maybe that will make a difference.  we can hope anyway.
