Snoopy - heartwarming to hear of your generosity.

Tamikosmom I will hope they are few who have lasting injuries from that calamity, just a sad event particularly at a christian event.

CBB - I'm praying for you, it's been a long road for you and you deserve to regain some sense of security and peace now. God be with you always.

All - please say a prayer for this woman's family, little none met her on a pet forum and thought so highly of her. Her husband murdered her in their driveway this weekend, 12 shots with a 45. She leaves behind a 10 year old son and a 1 year old son. The husband had gone over the edge, become increasingly controlling and even masochistic. I pray for her children and that that her loving brother and parents can fill the gaping hole in their lives now.

None ... thank you for sharing.  Tonight ... my prayers will uphold this young lady's family as they strive to cope with this terrible tragedy.

None and Mishy ... thank you for honoring my prayer request.  As of today there is only one person in hospital with serious injuries and ... although I do not know her personally ... I heard through the "evangelical" grapevine LOL ... she is expected to make a full  recovery.

When you consider that 70 people fell almost 15 feet into a basement with a concrete floor ... it was a miracle that there were not more serious injuries or any fatalities.

My youngest son and wife were really shaken when they stopped and considered what an awesome responsibility each of the youth leaders were given when they were entrusted with the safety of the 20 youth that they were caperoning from their church to the concert.  A few of the kids had wanted to go down to the front (pit) ... to be part of the crowd that were jumping up and down to the music directing in front of the band ... where the floor collapsed.  However ... R. and other youth leaders discouraged it ... they felt it was best the group stayed together.  As some of these young people were not too happy ... R. had questioned at the time whether the right decision had been made.

Mishy and None ... thank you again.

Mishy, Tamikosmom, Mrs Red thank you for the prayers. I arrived home from TX after midnight so I haven't had a chance to check in with little none about this situation, but she did tell me her husband was pleading not guilty??????? The world as per defense attorneys, so disturbing.

Mrs I'm sorry to hear of your friend's father, stage 4 leaves so few options. I have so often thought of Rick's decision to fight when some told him not to, to just run with the time he had knowing that fighting would diminish his health in other ways - and his energy. I will pray for them, that he can find the right answers to what is best for him and for his family to endure this with him.

None ... IIRC it was April two years ago when you lost your precious Rick.  I know that you have moved ahead in your life/career but ... this time of year must weigh heavy on your heart.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs

God watch over our children and keep them safe.

Hi Monkeys, I don't post here much, but do read and keep you all in my prayers, as you all touch my heart so much.

I have two prayer requests myself.  My SIL passed away from breast cancer in 2000, leaving behind 6 children, the youngest was one.   I just found out, my BIL, her husband now may possibly have breast cancer himself.  Though it's rare for men, he will be having a biopsy done this week to find out if he has cancer.   He still has two of the youngest at home to raise and it would be so devasting to them and the rest of his children to lose another parent to cancer, if in fact that is what it is.

My second prayer request is for my youngest daughter, who is now 20, seems to be heading in a direction that has me very concerned.  I fear for her every night, when she is not home, even though she is an 'adult', I believe she is making very poor decisions that could hurt her.  So please pray she gets back on track and makes  better decisions.
She keeps me in a turmoil constantly.

I appreciate you all so much and the family I have here.   You are all in my prayers, as I know, even if you don't come here to ask, God knows what is on your heart and there is nothing like the power of prayer.  God bless you all!

Di ... thank you for sharing.

I will uphold your BIL and daughter as well as you and family members in my prayers.

My hubby and I were humbled my eldest son when is was in his late teens and early twenties.  Di ... once D. was handed that high school graduation diploma ... we let go ... we were tired of steer him into a direction that his heart did not want to go.  That did not imply that we were not down on our knees upholding him before our Heavenly Father every night but ... we let go.  Guess what ... it did not happen overnight but ... by the time D. was about twenty two/twenty three he had grown a brain LOL and ... began making decisions which did not bring him down and ... viewed the foundation that he was raised on and ... his parents from a different perspective.

Di ... time/maturity has a way of bringing our "kids" back into the fold by their own choice ... not because they are being forced to.

Hugs.

Thank you so much for sharing that story.  My DH keeps saying to make her move (kick) out and learn life and that I give in too much to her.  Which is probably true, as others say the same.  But I fear letting go, out of fear of getting a call she is hurt or worse.  Parenting can be so rewarding, but also the most painful thing in the world.  I know she was taught properly and there is nothing more I can do now.  It only breaks my heart that much more.  So your right, I need to just let go....  I do tend to try and control her, as if I can change it that way.  So, I know, I am probably a part of the problem, rather than the solution.   Her older sister is so much more mature and always has been.  I could be so lucky to have another just like her.   Either way, your advice and prayers are so much appreciated!  I HAVE to let go, before I have a nervous breakdown!  And you are probably right, she will find her way eventually.....God Bless you and all Monkeys.

Once again, I come in here feeling sorry for myself over minor things and find so many that need so much more than I do.  I always ask God to take care of all the monkeys concerns.  God listens even when we think he's turning a deaf ear...sometimes it's not what we want to hear so we are the ones not listening to Him. May God hold all of you in his hands with His love.

Lalas, what you have posted is so very true.  Thank you.

Prayers for all the monkeys and the ones they have named here, and also brought before Him silently in their hearts.  So much sadness and tragedy in so many homes and in all corners of our beautiful Earth.

God Bless everyone who reads here

Lala's, you have posted what my heart is feeling.

God bless all the monkeys.  Raising up all our intentions, the posted and unposted, to our loving Father.  We are not perfect, Lord, but we love each other.  Please wrap the monkeys in Your love and hold our intentions close to your ear and in Your Sacred Heart.

The monkeys have put their heart and soul out there to ask for prayers.  Please grant them what is needed.  You know what that is for each of them.

Amen.  Thank You, Jesus.

Whenever I come here to just read or ask for prayer, I always end up crying.  Either out of joy of knowing such wonderful people across the world who genuinely care, or out of the heartache I see others enduring.  Only God could have his hands on bringing us all together, not only for Natalee, but for each other as well.   He works miracles and brings people in our lives to give us hope.  Even in all the sadness surrounding us in this world.  Praise God for bringing me to this godly and loving family!   May he BLESS you all!

Thank you all for being such a blessing to me!

What if the answer to someone's prayer is you?

You just never know.  This thread is such a blessing because no matter what anyone brings, everyone is unfailingly supportive and upifting.  That's a nice answer to someone's prayer.  An ear, a caring heart, another sympathetic soul.

God bless you all for being the answer to my prayers on many occasions.

Peaches that is so true. I know when Rick was so sick SM was often my window on the world, in that it was so confining, we only went out to hospitals for treatments. Klaas used to ping with me and listen endlessly too, so did San and Yap and Angie and BT and Tylergal and Anna, the list is so long including you and even your DH.

Tamikosmom thank you, actually Rick was diagnosed in April two years ago and the race to save him began. He passed away on August 17th, Angie's birthday.......it was so brief and so fleeting those last months. Yes we miss him terribly, I think we learn to compensate and I just don't allow myself to fall deep into missing him, I'm not sure I could move beyond it if I did.

Humanity, we all have that in common, no matter what. We choose to be more human when we are humane and caring, I think nothing is closer to God's wish for all of us.

I ask for your prayers for a very dear friend in North Carolina who is losing her beautiful 42 year old daughter to cancer.  The dear daughter has fought hard for 1 1/2 years and she ready for God to take her.  I ask you to remember her wonderful life, and make her passage  to please be without additional pain, and for strength for her family to endure this loss.  Thank you.

I'd like to thank you all for your prayers and concerns these past few months for my sister-in-law Tommie.  Yesterday she had the best day she had had in months.  She went to a few yard sales, went to lunch, and when she got home my brother planted them for her (under her careful instruction of course),  and they bbq'd yesterday evening which she loved to do.

This morning about 5am she and Royce got up and she told him to go back to bed for a while cause he didn't have to work today.  About 5:45am he got up and she was in the bathroom.  She had passed away.  Peaceful.

They would have been married 39 years in July.

It gives me great comfort to know that she is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Please keep my family in your prayers.

Oh my dear Snoopy...I am so sorry to hear this.  It seems that God has need of the best and he certainly has taken his share from your family.  All I have to offer you is a hug...I know that nothing can make this better...I have come to realize that the main ingredient in life is pain...without it we would never recognize the joy and be thankful.  Still, the loss is tremendous.  May God wrap His arms around you and your family once again and help all of you to find comfort in HIS LOVE.

I just found out something.  I thought that last year Tommie was 70, but she told me just a few months ago that she was 69.   Well......she was 71.  That just kindof tickled me.  We had big plans to go fishing in June.  We'd go to Lake of The Ozarks and spend the week practically in the crappie house at Knotty Pine Resort.  She was my fishing buddy.  I put the minnow on the hook....she'd reel the fish in with a squeal of excitement everytime she caught one......I'd take it off the hook and bait her line up and on and on we'd go.   I never seen anyone get so excited every time they caught a stupid fish. lol  Then I'd clean the fish and cook em up for her.
