Keeping A-1 and all monkeys in my prayers.

A-1, fwiw, our friend's mom refused treatment for bladder cancer a couple of years ago.  She passed on October of 2007, on her own terms.  These old timers are like that.  If cancer is the cause, I hope something can be done to minimize his pain.

A-1

Adding your Dad to my prayer list, mind if I ask his first name?

Thanks, Lovinlife
Thank you, My Dad's name is Kenneth.

I hope you don't find that invasive.  It helps me personalize.

Can I ask you all to pray for my Dad too.  He is totally blind as most of you know. He is very sick.  Dad is 84 years old and still goes to work every day, but the past week he has been in so much pain he has had to stay home.  My older sister has been taking him soup and the doctor has sent him medicine.  He never complains.  TIA

Always, I will pray for your Dad & for you. You have lots of friends looking out for you, ya know. You're a very sweet person and I have a feeling your Dad will be fine. This time of year does a number on people; I know it does me! Love ya, Monken

I will continue to pray for your Dad, A1. I know they can be a stubborn bunch when it comes to disclosing about their health. I practically had to pull it out of my Father.

We will never be able to make a woman want her child. But we as a society could make a safe haven for those children in that situation. Let not one more child die from lack of wanting... We could call it the Caylee House.

Praying always for the monkeys and their families.Quite awhile ago I requested prayer for Kyle Sweet. She is the wife of Michael Sweet(lead singer for Christian group Stryper. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer February 2007 and has been battling for her life ever since. This morning we were updated about her condition. Please pray for Kyle and the family that loves her so very much.Below is Michaels post..

"JANUARY 11, 2009 - Iím sitting here by Kyleís side in a room at Brigham and Womenís Hospital and I felt led to write this letter as some form of comfort as we walk through the darkest time of our lives. As you all know, my wife Kyle was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in February of 2007. Standing by her side and seeing her physically and emotionally face this horrible disease, Iíve realized that not only is she the love of my life, she is an angel and the most inspirational person Iíve ever known. Iíve stood faithful and hopeful in prayer through this battle, yet to see my love suffer and endure the pain and discomfort that she has over the past two years breaks my heart into a million pieces. No one deserves this, especially Kyle.

You see, she is the backbone of our family, a pillar of strength, and as unselfish as one can be. She doesnít want any credit for anything she does but truth be known Ė she deserves all credit. She is the perfect wife, mother and such a blessing to everyone she meets. I constantly wrestle with the reality of this monster that invades her body and I can tell you that itís been a tremendous struggle to see my wife so sick. I have felt so helpless and at times completely hopeless, but I know I must be strong for my family and be that pillar of strength too, as sheís been throughout our marriage of almost 23 years.

When our son Michael was born, Kyle was hospitalized for over 2 weeks due to a severe blood clot in her leg. I was on tour at the time and I would fly home after shows to be with her and then fly out to catch the next show. I remember that time as if it was yesterday and I recall how brave and strong Kyle was then. It was a testament of her courage and an example to me. She never complained and she picked up the pieces and carried on with taking care of our newborn son, Michael.

Kyle is also a very accomplished and successful makeup artist. This is actually how we met. She drove from Cape Cod to LA in the early eighties with a degree in child psychology but once there, she decided to pursue a career in makeup. Through hard work and perseverance, she went on to work in film and television. Her career had not even peaked and she chose to give it all up to spend 100% of her time raising Michael and Ellena as I toured the world. She sacrificed everything for us and again this was a testament of who Kyle is Ė a loving, caring, unselfish wife and mother. She wouldnít have it any other way. She has given me so much joy and I guess I just wanted to give all of you a glimpse of who Kyle is and the character that she bestows.

We covet and cherish every prayer from everyone of you and I thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts as I sit here by my love. If you can, pray for Kyleís body and immune system to gain enough strength to fight so her body can get back to some sort of normal state, specifically her digestive system. She hasnít eaten for days due to nausea and it wonít pass. Sheís very weak and I just want to take her home.

Iíll update as time permits. Kyle sends her love too. She lit up when I told her that I would post and ask all of you to pray. It means so much. More than you know.

Always,
Michael

This is for the wise and patient beloved Wyks, in light of recent developments with her son.  You may have heard this before, but it is a good reminder that we don't know what God's plan is... we have to just have hope and be patient, see how it all will turn out.

Blessings, Wyks!

Quote
Good Luck Bad Luck!

There is a Chinese story of a farmer who used an old horse to till his fields. One day, the horse escaped into the hills and when the farmer's neighbors sympathized with the old man over his bad luck, the farmer replied, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?" A week later, the horse returned with a herd of horses from the hills and this time the neighbors congratulated the farmer on his good luck. His reply was, "Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows?"

Then, when the farmer's son was attempting to tame one of the wild horses, he fell off its back and broke his leg. Everyone thought this very bad luck. Not the farmer, whose only reaction was, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?"

Some weeks later, the army marched into the village and conscripted every able-bodied youth they found there. When they saw the farmer's son with his broken leg, they let him off. Now was that good luck or bad luck?

Who knows?

Everything that seems on the surface to be an evil may be a good in disguise. And everything that seems good on the surface may really be an evil. So we are wise when we leave it to God to decide what is good fortune and what misfortune, and thank him that all things turn out for good with those who love him.
