Want to thank everyone for your continued prayers for my sister Connie.  We have another team meeting tomorrow.  I really miss her, not being able to have a conversation and we used to talk almost everyday, sometimes several times a day.  There is a part of me that is grieving so deeply -- I miss her (old self) so much that some times it takes the breath out of my body.  Our faith is strong that she will recover and I have been done this road before . . . but it doesn't make the journey any less painful.
Again, thank you for your continued prayers.

Continued prayers for you, Connie & your family.  I hope the meeting goes well and you get encouraging news.
Please take care of yourself and prayers for your continued strength.   an angelic monkey an angelic monkey an angelic monkey

Walk on

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

A MOTHER'S JOURNEY OF FAITH

In the Fall of 2007, a book authored by the mother of Natalee Holloway was released.  Beth Holloway shares with readers the heartbreak, the frustration and the desperations in her ongoing journey to be a voice for her daughter until Aruban  justice prevails.

Then she shares the sustaining faith that has given her courage to endure.

_________

Loving Natalee: A Mother's Testament of Hope and Faith
by Beth Holloway

Pages 230/231:
  I can't say for sure if we'll ever know that answer to whether my daughter is alive or not.  I know it doesn't look good.  But just as that old metal spiral staircase rose from the ashes when our lake house burned down, so too faith stands strong in the remains of this devastating loss.  And just as my Dad built another house around that staircase, I will build another life around hope and faith.  It won't ever be the same.  But I pray that it will, at the very least, be useful.

The hope that filled Natalee's heart fills mine, and I will press on.  Faith got me up this morning, and faith will see me through tomorrow.  And the next day.  And the next.

Page 232:  Without hope we are hungry. And on a very deep level, desperate. But no one has to be. What's so amazing is that we can feed each other. We can help each other. We have the power to give resilience to others who are fading. We can nourish each other's spirits and save one another from defeat and despair. Every one of us possesses this power to "love thy neighbor," and we need to use it every chance we get.

Although I have been silent, I have been here everyday with prayers for all my monkey friends. I know the pain of the unknown, and the desperation of feeling alone. I pray that none of you are feeling this, and know there is a higher power that is guiding your life, and conforting you. You have others that are praying for you, and for the obstacles that are in your life, whether there is a post here about it or not. It is what has gotten me through so many terrible times, and so for the recent times.  And so I lean on the belief that I know there are silent prayer for me. I am sending them out to you as well. Together we will get through all of this.  an angelic monkey

It Is Well with My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Refrain:
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!
Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is Well with My Soul

The hymn "It is Well with My Soul" becomes closest to heart for one undergoing grief. Written by a Presbyterian laywer Horatio G. Spafford (1828-1888) and composed by Philip P. Bliss (1838-1876), this deeply touching gospel song has long been loved.

The scripture reference is Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Spafford was born on October 20, 1828 in North Troy, New York. He was a successful lawyer in Chicago who maintained a keen interest in Christian activities, deeply spiritual and devoted to the scriptures.

Sometime in 1871, a fire in Chicago heavily devastated the city, and months before that , Spafford had invested hugely in real estate by the shore of Lake Michigan. The disaster greatly wiped out his holdings. Before the fire, Spafford also experienced the loss of his son.

Two years after the fire, Horatio Spafford planned a trip to Europe for him and his family. He wanted a rest for his wife and four daughters, and also to assist Moody and Sankey in one of their evangelistic campaigns in Great Britain. He was not meant to travel with his family. The day in November they were due to depart, Spafford had a last minute business transaction and had to stay behind in Chicago. Nevertheless, he still sent his wife and four daughters to travel as scheduled on the S.S. Ville du Havre, expecting to follow in a few days. On November 22, the ship laden with his wife and daughters was struck by the Lockhearn, an English vessel, and sank in few minutes.

After the survivors were finally landed somewhere at Cardiff, Wales, Spafford's wife cabled her husband with two simple words, "Saved alone." Shortly after, Spafford left by ship on his way where his beloved four daughters had drowned, and pen at hand, wrote this most poignant text so significantly descriptive of his own personal grief – "When sorrows like sea billows roll..." The hymn "It is Well with My Soul" was born.

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The world shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun refuse to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

I crossed-stitched this and it hangs on my wall today. I read the words daily. The music is beautiful, and so are the words.  an angelic monkey

Fanny Mae

Thank you.  The words to Amazing Grace really are powerful and ... beyond comprehension.  However ... I claim that undeserved Grace as my own nevertheless.

I can get caught up in the worship songs that our church has embraced in a big way but ... it is the words of the old Hymns ... words with a Scripture foundation ... that keep me grounded when my life is spinning out of control.  Those words never fail to  provide me with the comfort and assurance that I seek daily.

Almighty God, we thank you for being our God and choosing us as your people.  We humble ourselves before you in the name of Jesus who intercedes for us even now.  We pray for all the missing people throughout our country and our world.  We pray for those who continue to search day in and day out that their strength may never waiver.  And when we are feeling exhausted from the burdens of the day, may we be restored by the empowering of your Holy Spirit.  We ask all things, speak all things, and dream all things, in the name of the One who spoke your Word, who obeyed your Word, who is your Word, ever our Lord and our Saviour.  Amen and Amen.

Hello Sweet Monkeys, I know there are so many in need of prayers and I do pray for each and everyone of the needs. I strongly believe in the power of prayer. I am asking for prayers for my precious furbaby Butchie (Butch). Last Thursday he was only given a few months to live by the vet. He has advance stages of CHF.But he still gets around great. tail wags All the time, eats good and is such a happy baby. He does have a bad cough. From what I understand it is because of all of the fluid in him. He has been going to a vet every other week since March and been put on so many different meds.. He has gone through so many test. Just about Every other week it was a different test. I had had it with this one vet so I took him to a new vet on Thursday and he told me what he has. This is breaking my heart. He is just such a happy and loving baby (he is around 11 years old) we are not sure of his age. He was dumped out of a truck on a dirt road in Al many years ago, I brought him back to Fl with me. He has always been the most gentle loving baby. He loves everyone and everything.Please keep him in your prayers. Thank You and God Bless you all   an angelic monkey

Florida mom - I will definitely pray for your baby.  Mine is being taken to the or right now.  I did want to tell you I had 2 poodles who were managed for CHF with lasix and lived far longer than the expected.  Let baby cough - better out than in.  If you show fear, he might hold back the cough and it will build up.  Glad you have a new vet.  If you are at home and can take him out often, ask your vet about lasix.
