A REMINDER WITH LOVE TO MY MONKEY FRIENDS

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings—wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

So many thanks to all for your prayers.
We had a joyous Christmas and birthday party for Mom yesterday.
It was good to laugh and be with family.  We are so blessed.

My Prayers for all who need them. Sister I am so glad you had a wonderful time Sunday.

I am here asking for prayers for a dear lady who lives next door to my mom. We moved into our houses the same day. I was 11 yrs old and her baby was 10 months. She has been a special person in my life since that day.

Her name is Pat Catoe. She was diagnosed with Leukemia about 13 yrs ago. She went through a bone marrow transplant from her brother. She has fought so hard all these years as the bone marrow never did exactly what it was suppose to do. She developed Graft- versus-host disease a few months ago and they put her on 180 mg of Prednisone a day. Since Christmas she had been in horrible pain in her stomach. Last week they discovered she had a perforated ulcer  and did surgery. She has since had two more surgeries for infection and the last on Friday they just left her open. Yesterday she had a blood clot in her arm, then had a stoke. They have found infection even in her brain. Her white blood count was down to 1 yesterday. She has a husband and two grown sons, and 4 grandchildren. Please lift them up in your prayers.
She has suffered so much in the last 13 yrs. All I can ask is God's Will be Done.

An update on Pat......she is no longer breathing on her own and is on a ventilator. Thursday the 21st is her and Connie's 49th wedding anniversary. If no improvement, he said he will let her go to God Thursday.

Her favorite saying, posted on her FB is: I am not afraid of tomorrow, I have seen yesterday and I just love today.

Praying for Peace and Comfort for you dear Pat. I love you!

Darla, as you know, there are many things worse than death -- sometimes it is living.  I will pray for her gentle release from this earthly journey to the beginning of her greatest adventure.
I do appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my family too.

Monkeys, I am here again asking for prayers. My son-in-law got sick yesterday afternoon and was taken to the hospital. After test were done, they found a large tumor in his belly and more in his lymph nodes. He is being turned over to an oncologist. Please keep him and my daughter and the kids in your prayers as they go through this valley.
And will you please pray for me that I can be strong for all of them. I have lost 4 friends in the last two weeks and another will probably be going home to God tomorrow. My heart is just in pieces right now.
God Bless,

Thank you Sister, I try to check in on the prayer thread everyday to see who needs prayer, I always remember your sister and now George. And yes I know that many things are worse than death. And I have no doubt in  my mind where Pat is going. She has always been an Angel here on Earth. She has touched so many with her sweet spirit and is loved by all who knew her. Praying for a peaceful journey for her to Heaven.

Darla I am so sorry to hear this news.  I will definitely pray for your son in law and the family.  Please take a deep breath and lean on God and us Monkeys to help you through this - you are going to need a lot of strength. I will pray and ask God to provide you with lots of love and a steady hand during this stressful and uncertain time.  Remember to put a note in your God box too.  Bless you.   an angelic monkey

Almighty God, we know all things including life and death are in your hands and we know you love us with an everlasting love.  We humbly ask you to surround Darline and her family and her friends with your peace.  Grant that each trial may bring them closer to one another and closer to you; and grant that nothing may shake their certainty that you work all things together for good, and that abiding in your hand there will never be a needless tear.  We pray you look within our hearts where we love you purely and sweetly and help us to reach within that gift place and extend outward as we share our blessings with others.  Hear this our prayers, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen and Amen.

Darla, after thinking about your son-in-law and your dear friend Pat, I found what I had been searching for -- also posted it in Meditations, but here it is also.  May it bring you and yours much comfort.

The Skin Horse had lived longer in the nursery than any of the others.  He was so old that his brown coat was bald in patches and showed the seams underneath, and most of the hairs in his tail had been pulled out to string bead necklaces.  He was wise, for he has seen a long succession of mechanical toys, arrive to boast and swagger, and by-and-by break their mainsprings and pass away, and he knew that they were only toys, and would never turn into anything else.  For nursery magic is very strange and wonderful, and only those playthings that are old and wise and experienced like the Skin Horse understand about it.
"What is REAL?" asked the [Velveteen] Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery tender, before Nana came to tidy the room.  "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"
"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse.  "It's a thing that happens to you.  When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."
"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful.  "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."
"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up." he asked, "or bit by bit?"
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse.  "You become.  It takes a long time.  That's why it doesn't often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept.  Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.  But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."
