Monkeys...Prayers do get answered! And, God allows us to know he is present in many mysterious ways!

First off, I went to my neurosurgeon today in Boston and was "cleared". I am now free to resume my life at my own pace! Laughing

Also, a neat little story..

My Grandfather died in 1956. He had an alarm clock that stopped ticking and working on that day. I have this clock in my bedroom now. The other day I was up in the Bedroom with  my daughter, SeaMonkey , and lo and behold, the clock's alarm went off and it began ticking!!!!  THis was the FIRST time this happened since he died.
Now, to me, THAT is a message that the prayers from all of you were answered and that I have been blessed with a new life complete with all the bells and whistles of that old alarm clock!!!!

So, Thank you, All of you for all your prayers and good wishes..

Also, ALL of you are always in my prayers. Each of you is very special and I pray all your lives are filled with happiness, love, good health and prosperity!

Great news Art.

As far as the clock story Shocked  Shocked  Smile .

Is the clock still ticking Question .

Yeah, that clock mystery was always discussed in the family of how it quit the day my GrandFather passed on!!! Now we'll have to "revise" the story!

Here is something from one of my church publications. Just a very touching little story.

Quote
"Author E.B. White's wife Katharine was an accomplished gardner who for many years wrote gardening columns for New Yorker. He wrote of her last autumn bulb planting and 'her studied absorption in the implausible notion that there would be yet another spring, oblivious to the ending of her own days, which she knew perfectly well was near at hand, sitting there with her detailed chart under those dark skies in the dying October, calmly plotting the ressurection'."

Art, I loved the story about the clock. Those are the kinds of things you cherish most because they hold special meaning.
Snoopy, just like the purple crocus in the Easter Lily.  No doubt she's laughing at you about the last word.    My friend with chemo and radiation is doing about as well as expected.  A few bumps along the way but at this point things are looking up.  Please keep praying for this person.  The treatments are continuing and they have been difficult but I feel good about the outcome at this point. Thanks for asking.

I love that this thread is here and that I can come here to share burdens, lighten my own, celebrate mine and others victories, and join with you in prayer. I always have a sense of entering a holy place when I read this thread. I'm saying earnest prayers for all those listed and for those unspoken needs of all the monkeys.

I've said it before, but I feel like this is our chapel. There's a special place for me within my church, that I go to when I need comfort. I was Baptized there, married there, my son was christened there, my Father, Grandmother, Brother, and Mother were taken for burial from there.
It is the small Chapel, very quiet and intimate and the kneeling benches are always in place, waiting. I thought I'd share it with you, because I feel the same way about this place.

Yes, CBB...it's quite a place...I, too, need some prayer...have some conflict with recent sibling choice and the overall affect on others..need inspiration from the greater power to handle it...afraid to overreact...pray that I don't...it's too tempting.

I so agree with you, CBB

I check in here regularly and pray for all those in need.
This area has such a peaceful, calming effect!

I'm remembering you 2NJ! If my own experience is at all helpful, I'll share with you what works for me in those situations. Before the encounter even happens, I pray that God will take control of my eyes, ears, mouth, legs, and also the party I'm struggling with. Then I mentally remove that party from the actual interaction and interact only with God's measure of me in that situation. That seems to put Him between us and all things are filtered throuh Him.  Wink

Please send up a prayer or two for my dear Dad (83 but doesn't act it) who is currently in the hospital with either pleurisy or pneumonia or both.

Naturally it was "bothering" him before "he decided" to admit himself. And so my brother calls me last nite at 10 p.m. to let me know my dad is in the hospital. And my brother spent the night there the night before just in case of an emergency. Here I sit four states away wondering how come my brother didn't insist on taking Dad to the hospital right away.

MEN!

Thanks for the prayers. He's my Daddy.

As we move into this Easter time my prayers are always with all the monkeys and their loved ones.  May you all feel the love and peace of this Holy week and know that none of you are alone in your troubles.
God bless all of you.

Easter is so bittersweet for me since both my parents passed on at this time.  My mother loved Easter.  It was her favorite holiday and this year the dogwoods were so beautiful and I thought of her.  That was her favorite tree. She always tried to grow the pink ones but had little luck.  I went to her and my dad's graves today to leave flowers for Easter.  I miss them, but it's what happens if we are on earth.  Everything has a resolution.  Her azaleas continue to bloom each year and her camellia trees were filled with blooms this year...so she is still near me even now.

I think of None and Snoopy with their losses this past year and know that I am not alone.  I think of Mrs. Red and her father.  I remember LEP and her mother and in two years of being here, so many of us have loved and lost. And of course my thoughts are with Natalee's family.  They too are spending another holiday without her.  We are such a diverse group and yet when necessary we come together in love and prayer.  I am so proud to say I know all of you and my prayers are always with each of you.  Happy Easter!
