~WE LOVE YOU PEACHES~

« Reply #700 on: May 06, 2007, 08:17:39 AM »

Great news about outr favorite peeping squirrel!  I'm glad THAT cat's outta the bag!  I am so proud of Terry.  He has probably not always been a model patient (it's a man thing, I'm sure) but he stayed focused and kept going.  He listened to his doctors and I'm sure he got plenty of advice from his online following.

I tried to do my share of cheering Terry on.  I am amazed at how well he's done and how great he looks!  And he kept his sense of humor.  Wearing that skeleton shirt to radiation!  WHAT A RIOT!  You have to love that sense of humor!  (The staff will miss him.)

From where I sit, you are one lucky peeping squirrel, Terry.  High five for hangin' in there, my friend.

In light of terryD's remission, which is a bonus to us all, and to terryD, I'd like those monkeys who are willing to pray for another friend of ours who also lives in FL...he has a heart conditon but was recently dx'd with lung cancer...lymph involvement.  I do not know the stage.  I just read an email from him that says that they want him to go to the hospital for chemo & radiation.  He feels that it's the end.  I responded with questions and encouragement, but hope that additonal intercession in prayer will help whatever will be...to be....thanks.

2NJ - I will definitely keep your friend in my prayers.

I have not posted this yet because I didn't have all the details, but tomorrow my dad is facing serious surgery.

Remember back in November, he was in an accident where a young girl broadsided his car? At the time it seemed like he would be OK but his neck and shoulder have gotten worse with pain since then. He will now have to have 2 vertebrae fused, and they will have to go into the vertebrae (around the spinal cord) to clean up any bone spurs and arthritis that has built up in the central canal of the spinal column in that injured area. They access the area by going in through the FRONT of the neck which is a pretty tough incision to say the least.  Needless to say this is very risky. My uncle, his brother had this same procedure done a few years back and it left him in a wheelchair and hastened his death.

I am trusting that all will go well. Keep us all in your prayers. I should be back tomorrow evening w/ a report if it all goes OK.

SB ~ My husband had this about 2.5 years ago ~ vertebrae fused and something permanently inserted....looks like a door hinge  Shocked  BUT the important thing is that he is doing great, and by the way, they went through his neck, also.  His main concern was whether or not he could still flyfish  Rolling Eyes .
Anyway, many prayers for your Dad *and* you ~ I know it will work out.  Please keep us posted.

SB
Your father and your family will be in my prayers tonight.  I heard a lady on television that was in that awful tornado in Kansas say that instead of praying for God to hold her in the palm of His Hands she prayed that God would cover her with His Hands....she survived.   I will pray that God will not only hold your father in His Hands but that He will guide the hands that hold your father's life.  Those doctors will do a good job and your father will do well.  I am asking that in the Name of Jesus at this moment in time.  God has already answered your prayers, He's already heard your plea and most of all He knows your heart.

I haven't been on the computer for quite a while and therefore have not kept up with events here.  I thank God for TerryD's good news and add my prayers to all of the others expressed here for his continued progress and for all the other prayer requests.  I hope you are feeling better BT.  I'm going to read back and make a list so I don't leave anyone out.  May God bless all.

I will be adding your friend to my prayers for peace, strength, comfort and complete healing as well as wisdom, guidance & direction for the Drs. for his medical care.

SB
Please know that you, your dad, & your family will be in my thoughts & prayers. Praying that all will go well with this surgery that the Lord would guide the surgeon's hands during the process as well as complete physical healing for him afterwards. May the Lord give you all peace, comfort & strength during this time.

Amen.

My brother in law had similar spinal fusion surgery several years ago and is doing fabulous.  May the hand of God guide the surgeons.

SB,

Two people I work with have also had that same surgery recently (as a result of car accidents) and both are doing very well and are back at work. I'm praying for your father, and I truly believe he will do great.
