Tiger & Angie~
Thanks so much for your prayers & thoughts, they are definitely helpful & needed.

Yes, Angie, it's so senseless and for the life of me I really can't comprehend it let alone my cousin right now. She never seemed to be one to give up. She's been thru' so much in her life, everytime she turned around she was tested everywhich way she went. My biggest hope & prayer is that she truly had turned to the Lord before she died, but I just don't know if she did. She was cremated yesterday.  Sad

Roos, I pray for you and your family and what they are going through.

I firmly believe that people who contemplate suicide give out a lot of warning signals over a long period of time, altho people can do it on the spur of the moment. We are just too busy to pay attention. Then the suicide happens and people say they don't have a clue why it happened. Not leaving a note is symptomatic of someone who has thought long and hard about what is important to them and they realize nothing is important. They do not leave notes blaming other people.

Bottom line ... pay attention to your friends and family.

Another thing, Drinking itself does not cause suicide. I think the problems that lead to drinking are the ones that lead to suicide.

A prayer request for the daughter of a very good friend of mine.  The daughters name is Amanda.  She has been fighting cancer in multiple locations of her body since November.  She is a beautiful, vibrant woman in her early forties, that is handling this with great optimism and humor. She has had rectal cancer, spread to the liver and the lungs.  She has had multiple surgeries since early Jan.  She is having half of her left lung removed on June 14th in the hope that will eliminate the cancer there.  We are hopeful this will eliminate the cancer growths from her body  She will have additional chemo after that surgery.  Please pray for Amanda, and for her parents, husband and children,  to help all of them though this ordeal.  I thank you.  I pray for each of you needing help and peace.

I'm adding all the requests here to my prayer list. Hugs to everyone with needs.

This might sound like a kind of stupid request, but would y'all also pray that we get some rain here? We haven't had any rain in weeks and weeks. We are 23 inches behind in rain for the past several months. I'm really worried about the animals that live in our woods. I've been putting out as many containers of water as I can for them, but I know it's not enough. And the green things they eat are all drying up as well.  Sad

Once again, I venture into the lounge and select prayer thread.  My heart is heavy and I know there are so many that need help.  Roos, suicide is very difficult  There are more questions than answers and enough guilt to go around.  The only person that knows the reason for all of this is God.  I know it's not easy to just let go and let God be in control.  I have learned to do this the hard way. I have had to learn to trust in something I can not see.  It's really hard sometimes, you find yourself asking why this happened and why it was this person and not someone else.  There are no easy answers, there will not be instant comfort to those that grieve.  That is why it's so hard to be human.  We care about things and children and animals.  It's a part of us that was placed there by the Creator knowing that our love and compassion was the only thing with the power to actually save humanity should the need arise. That is why it hurts our hearts.  We may only be flesh and blood but we have been given something that science can't find in all it's efforts.   That to me is amazing grace in action.  God doesn't turn his back on those that take their lives out of desperation.  He reaches out to them and comforts them and then leads them to see things in a different way.  Life on earth is both wonderful and sad at the same time.  Your loved one is resting in the arms of the Almighty right now.  I would not say this if I truly didn't believe it myself.  Love and hugs.

Roos I am so very sorry, how sad and tragic for all of you who loved her. I did know a coach once with Crohn's disease and it is such a hard disease to endure, basically your intestines atrophy and it can be very debilitating. After watching Rick endure his body's shut down so personally, it's often crossed my mind wondering how cronically ill people endure all they have to go through? I hope you and your family can find some peace eventually and I will pray for you and for her.

AZSunny, yes Amanda is in my prayers. So often now cancer is more about managing it than curing it, so if they can do that then perhaps soon we'll be closer to a cure in Amanda's lifetime. I will pray for that and for success with her treatment.

Sunfreak's news is wonderful, isn't it? A pure blessing from heaven.

Prayers for all of you in need. I prayer for all of you every day.

I appreciate your prayers for Amanda.  Her Mom and Dad are great friends of mine, and my heart breaks for them as well.  They need the prayers of support to help them support Amanda.

None, I agree that much of the cancer treatment is in managment, not cure.  I am not sure that with everything that has been going on that a cure is possible is possible for Amanda.  I do hope that she is granted another 5 to 10 years however.  She is so young, and her family is still growing and learning from her.  Thanks to all for your prayers of healing.

Thank-You Mrs. Red, LV, Lala's, None, Angie and anyone else that is holding my family up in prayer that I may not know about. Thank-You so very much from the bottom of my heart for your condolences, your words of comfort do bring some peace, your kindness & love shows in your words of thoughtfulness. I printed up your replies so I can have the words on hand at all times to draw strength from them when I feel overwhelmed. Thank-You so much, so very much for everything!

AZSunny~
I have added Amanda to my prayers and am praying for a good outcome for her.  Also, praying for her family during this time for strength & peace.

Sunfreak~

Just in case there are those that missed this on the lively...

From Peaches:
I can't dance today. Too depressed. Shouldn't clutter the LCD with this but there's nothing going on anyway.

I have to have some surgery on Wednesday. It turns out as I was busy having ovarian cancer, something else was busy expanding on my right adrenal gland. Since I've had 3 CT scans, they've been watching it. Now whatever it is is more than 6 cm which means it has to come out.

Good news for me is we know it is not a pheochromocytoma. You medical types know what that means. And it's on the right and not the left (bigger structures in the way). But it has to come out.

Ovarian cancer doesn't usually spread to the adrenal glands. From my CT scan, it appears the ovarian cancer has gone packing. And that's great. But what is this thing on my adrenal gland?

I guess I'll find out on Wednesday. My surgeon's plan is to try to get this out laparoscopically. If that doesn't work, then they will convert to an open procedure. How exciting.

Alrighty then. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Feel the power or prayer, Peaches...it's coming your way.
