Sunfreak, we were worried the other night after your post and I'm sorry about your stepmother. I'm so glad your father persevered in helping her get the treatment she needed. Prayers for her recovery and for you and your dad. Please keep us updated.

And prayers for you that your skin cancer is a thing of the past!! Hugs sweetie!

I have come here many times with the intention of asking for prayer for something and realized that my problems are so small and limited as compared to others.  This is my humble place, where I am reminded by God that he hears all the prayers we pray everyday.  Not only does He hear them, he already knew we were going to ask. Have you ever been so fearful and anxious about something and prayed about it and then when it all came to pass, God had already taken care of it? These sincere prayers that we all pray each day for each other is one of the reasons I come here.  I see that spark of goodness that often is missing in our daily lives.  There are those that truly care.

Prayers for all our monkeys.  May God's magnificent grace be with us all.

Hi, and welcome to the monkeys ~ couldn't sleep and just read your post.
What you might want to do is post your question/situation here, and then maybe start a thread in the lounge. Confused I usually hang out and lurk, but Klaas or San or some other pro will be along in the morning. Wink I think whatever you do will be okay. This is a great place.

The situation in a nutshell: My daughter left Jasper this morning at 3 am enroute to Tucson, Az. She called a friend to say that she had stopped in Tuscaloosa at a truckstop to get gas...that is the last time anyone has talked to her. Her friend in Tucson received a call around 8:00 (AZ time) from an anonymous person saying that my daughter had been robbed and that this person had taken her to a truck stop...no mention of her car. I called the number of the anonymous caller but did not get an answer...left message.

The story becomes even more bizarre, I know that she cashed out the debit card she was given and a guy who said his name was Hosea said that she was in the motel and for us not to worry. hen asked to speak to her, he hung up ..he was calling from her phone....

I called her phone and told her that IF I did not get to talk to her in person
pretty soon that I was going to have her dad contact the police (he gave her a car for her b'day) and have the car stopped. After a short wait, the police were called and a report was made. At midnight I received a call from her cell phone...a guy who did not want to talk...he just said.."did you talk to her?"....I asked how he got her phone and he said that she must have lost it at the motel but that she was gone now. He wouldn't say anything else.

Within 30 minutes...her friend received a call from a Arizona area code saying that my daughter was in Arizona...no way she could have driven
that distance in the time frame we have . The police claim they cannot
track the cell phone . I am at my wit's end trying to make sense out of this.

When she was younger, she had a serious drug problem so the police feel that she is just doing drugs and let the time get away from her. She has been drug free for six years and when before she left she was telling me how excited she was that her life was moving in a positive direction and that she was planning to return to college this fall.

She has always stayed in phone contact with me...I just feel that there is something else at play here. I needed someone to talk to who might offer insight as to other avenues we may have overlooked. Tomorrow, I amgong to get her dad (we are divorced) to contact the cell phone company to see if they can determine the location of the phone when it was being used.

Also another friend who works in youth services suggested finding out where she cashed in the debit card. At least we would know where to start

______
A few Monkeys were still online and able to give her ideas and encouragement. What is needed now is prayer for the health, safety, positive conclusion for Lady Devon's daughter, for Lady Devon, for the father, the family and friends. And for that someone out there that could right now make a difference in helping her.

And if necessary that God give us the path and the fasted to do what they, all of can do in this situation so that Lady Devon and her daughter will see each other's happy faces.

In the early part of this century I met a women named Judith. She had breast cancer six years earlier. She refused to have her breast amputated and had a lumpectomy instead and many chemo treatments. Then the breast cancer cells metastasized six years later to the ovaries and uterus, which they removed. She underwent many rounds of chemo until she was cancer free again. It didn't last long and it metastasized into colon cancer, She had a colostomy and had to wear a bag. The cancer metastasized to her anus. But she never gave up or complained.

Judith always asked me how I was doing. She even was a "go-between" between me and my daughter at the time of the estrangement. I told her, "Judith, I'm totally not comfortable telling you my problems when I see you going through cancer hell."

And this is the life lesson she left me before she died. She said, "My cancer problems have nothing to do with your problems. It does not invalidate them. Your problems are of equal importance. Never think they are of lesser importance."

Please let us understand that ALL our problems listed in this thread are of equal value and attention. So please feel free to always post your needs.

LV,

Your friend Judith was a very wise woman. Someone with a rare muscular disease once told me that her disease was an assignment she was given by God, and the road of her illness had been a wondrous journey. She said that instead of asking a sick friend, "how are you?" or telling them they look great, to ask them, instead, what they have learned.

She also said that, although we have socially acceptable values of what makes life hard (like illness), she is convinced that nobody's life is harder than anyone else's and that nobody's problems are greater...

Thank you for sharing Judith's words of wisdom and for helping me recall what Sandy told me...I will always remember her words...

I need special monkey prayers for the family of a little boy that drowned at a local pool yesterday.  His name was Steve and he was 6 years old.  I met Steve at the elementary school where my children attend as part of the afterschool program.  He was the kindest and sweetest little boy ever.  He always had a smile and a hug for me whenever I saw him.  We have lost a truly precious soul on this earth.  May Steve's family find peace in this tragedy.

TIA
