I just typed a long involved post which got lost in preview.  There are so many people here with serious problems, I hope nobody is offended by a "cat request."

Without going into the whole long story, I brought a cat, Garth, a very sweet 5 yr old brown tabby, into my home because his owners were letting him go outside (against their adoption agreement terms).  I was their pet sitter and became very attached to him.  Since they adopted him and another cat, they now have 2 small kids with another on the way, and have no time for pets.  Plus the kids are scaring the cats.

I took him in, had him tested for feline leukemia (FELV) and feline aids and he was negative.  I put him in a 2x3' cage in my front bedroom with two of my cats and started letting him out a little at a time.  He didn't eat for a week because of the trauma of changing homes.  He is a very sweet lap kitty.  A month later we did a follow-up test and he tested "weak positive" for FELV.  This is disastrous for a cat owner!  A more sensitive IFA test was done and he was positive.  I have several cats and no place in my house where I can isolate Garth.  Not to mention that my two cats have possibly been exposed.  They tested negative and have to be retested in 6 wks.

Garth is living in a 2x3' cage elevated on a table.  I can't even let him out for any exercise.  I sterilize my hands after handling him or cleaning his box to avoid spreading virus.  Garth has no idea why I am keeping him confined this way and not giving him lap time.  I guess he thinks I'm nuts.  But he wants out of the cage.

We have been so stressed for weeks because we love this sweet kitty and are worried about the other cats, but we don't know what to do.  Rescue groups will not take him because he would be hard if not impossible to adopt out.  We desperately need to find a cat lover with no other cats willing to give him a home.  He can live many years with good care and a loving home.

Your prayers for Garth, Charlie, Bobby would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
tidycat

This is a "ps" to my last post.  Garth was attacked as a kitten by a dog (before being adopted) and had surgery to remove part of his lower jaw.  He is fine, and only has a bit of an overbite which makes his face even more adorable.  His owners live on a very busy street.  They failed to keep the cats' vaccinations up to date, resulting in his becoming infected with FELV.  The other cat tested negative, but that could change when (if) he is tested again in a few weeks.  His name is Kitty, and he could use some prayers too, that he remains negative on his test and that they keep him indoors and safe.  Thanks.

I offer my prayers for all of God's creatures, great and small.  That means two-legged, four legged, winged and etc.  I will pray Garth will have a good home.  I don't post often in this thread, but I read here and light candles and pray.

I want to ask everyone to pray for rain for my area.  There are mature trees (a Douglas fir and 3 holly trees--not the shrub kind but the tall regular tree) kind dying in my front yard now.  Pecans this year turned out the size of large peanuts and unusable totally.

We have had about two real rains since Easter and a couple of heavy drizzles.  Some a couple of miles away have green lawns and pastures but right here, not only is the grass dead, it is completely gone in many parts of my yard, creating dust that effects my asthma and I have bronchial irritation constantly from it.  I

I don't think I will ever be able to get all this dust and grit out of my house and it has sand in it and is gritty and scratches the floors and furniture, etc.

Trees are turning already far too early and I suspect many are beginning to actually die.  Evergreens are brown, etc.

So please remember my area in your prayers and pray for rain for us.  This is just like in the olden times when people did this.  With so little grass for pastures, it is decimating the livestock as they are having to be taken to market to prevent having to feed them over winter creating havoc for farmers who have already lost their crops.  People are losing their homes because of this.

Thanks for any prayers sent our way.

I know I don't have a whole lot to say anymore, but I do read here everyday and pray for all of your concerns.  I'll try to do better about speaking up as I know how important words of encouragement are.

Truthseeker your daughter and her babies are in  my prayers.

cubbee your nephew is in my prayers.  And your family.

Tidy no prayer is too great or small for Jesus.  Your kitty's are in my prayers.

Anna I think of you each day, and pray that rain comes your way.

If ya'll could keep these things in your prayers I'd sure appreciate it.

My sister-in-law Tommie is not doing very well.  COPD

My good buddy Carol has been diagnosed with Breast cancer.  2 Lymph nodes are being removed on the 22nd, and masectomy of left breast shortly after.

Our friend Gerald has lung cancer.  Not sure yet about the prognosis.  He is in his 80's.

God Bless you all.

I prayer chain is 24 hours of solid prayer... like I say I will pray for 30 minutes starting at 8:00 am... until 8:30 am and then you say I will start at 8:30 until 9:00 and then Klaasend says 9-9:30 and Sunny says ok... 9:30-10 etc.. until we have continously prayed for each other for 24 hours...

Hoping we have interest...

If you want to start a prayer chain just let me know for what day.  Maybe Saturday morning through Sunday morning would be good?  I can set up the spreadsheet and start posting it, people can choose their times.
