Angie - how is your son doing?  I've been praying he's OK..wasn't sure what was wrong though.  Hope he's on the mend!

Thanks Klaas. He has been really sick lately and has missed alot of school. Dr was 99.9% sure he had mono  Shocked he was tested for that and strep. Mono came back negative.. THANK GOD !  Don't have strep results yet.
<and IMO he has a bad case of senior~itis too.. >

I'm sorry he's been so sick.  I had Mono when I was 12, was out of school for over 30 days.  My sister got it from me so I can guarantee you it's NOT the kissing disease it's made out to be, LOL.

Hope they figure out what's wrong with him and find a way to treat it!

Cubbee ~  Your nephew Jake is in my prayers.  Please keep us posted in how he is doing.

Angie ~  I'm glad your son seems to be feeling better.  I went through something similar with my son.  He has missed a lot of school too, and tests were run for mono, strep etc.  He was really sick for 4 or 5 days, then got better.  Then came down sick again, then got better.  We are back to getting better this time, after a round of anti-biotics.  I thought he was have junior-itis (similiar to your sons senior-itis I think), but then he looks so pale and etc.  I hope things continue to improve for your son.

Please, I feel guilty for not having read here in a while and coming to post but I need monkey prayers.

My 6 yr old niece was just taken by ambulance to Omaha to the Children's hospital with possible meningitis.  I am scared out of my mind.  I am helping my mom with the other 2 boys right now.

Please pray for our little angel.  Thanks so much.

Dear Friends, As I read this thread I am always overwhelmed by the needs of our little group, our families and friends, so much is going on everyone's lives. I am also heartened and strengthened by the support shown here one for another. I am a regular reader and a sometimes poster.  But I always read this thread. It reminds me of the blessings I do have, and gives me time to ask for the same for others.  I always hate to try to list everyone, for fear of leaving anyone out. I include all the monkey needs in my prayers.

Port V- I lost my father in August to Parkinson's, and my mother is in the end stages of Alzheimers.  She knew when my father was gone (they were roommates), without anyone telling her.  At this point, she is unable to interact with anyone, and does not seem to be aware of much in her surroundings...but she was noticeably sad for a time after his death.  We have mourned the loss of our mother for 15 years.  All those parts that were my mother have been lost... memories, personality, talents, and now, even language.  I know you understand that.  You will be in my prayers, and I am sorry to hear about the loss of your father.

For Di, Anna, Cubbee, Frijole, and all who have needs, you are also in my prayers.  I know that our collective prayers DO make a difference.  I have felt the power of your prayers many times.

I would also ask for prayers for Brian S. and his children.  His son is best friends with my grandson in 2nd grade, and daughter is in kindergarten with the grand-daughters.  Last week-end, his wife committed suicide. The family is devastated.

My prayers today will be giving thanks for all we've been given and for the opportunity we have to be together here.  I'm praying for those that have asked for prayers for their family, friends and loved ones in need.  Prayers also for those that are lonely, hungry,  afraid or in pain and may think they are forgotten or have no voice.  I pray the Lord will watch over all.

Update - Niece will be fine.  She has a very serious case of pneumonia.  Thank GOD it's not meningitis.  She'll be in the hospital for 2 to 3 more days.  Her fever soared again last night but she's better today.

My SIL about died of embarassment... this little girl can be the drama queen.  She has 105 degree temp and is delusional - they go to local ER, do all the tests and decided to send her to Omaha Children's.  She can't even sit up at this point.  They put the IV and heavy duty drugs into her for the 1 1/2 hr ride in an ambulance.  They arrive at the ER in Omaha.... what does our little angel say?

"Geez, I don't even know why I am here, I'm not even sick."   Laughing

So my bro is playing the game of "Life" and watching parades today.   Shocked  He did call for a football schedule for tomorrow.

I read back a few pages and pray for each and everyone of our monkeys in need.  I am grateful to have "met" each and every one of you. Take care today and God Bless you all.

Hugs,

After posting my thanks I have added all of the monkeys to my prayer list.  My daughter and son-in-law are doing the same.  For those who are experiencing difficult times, I know the power of prayer so stay strong and know that many others are pulling for you and your families.

Please pray for my friend of 25 years whose house burned last night trying to keep warm in this unseasonably cold weather.

She got out with the gown on her back.  I have not yet been there to see for myself but am told maybe a total loss.

She is disabled and no spring chicken.  Her cat is missing but she knows Boots got out OK, just jumped down and ran away.

It was 24 degrees and she got really chilled and is sneezing like anything this morning, too.

Please remember her in your prayers.  I don't know what she is going to do as she does not have any children who are likely to want to take her into their own home.

.

Anna, please give us an update on your friend.  I have worried and prayed about her ever since you posted about the fire.

Anmgie glad your son is feeling better
Cubbeegirl how is Jake doing
Frijole glad your little neice is going to be ok.
Lexie I'm so sorry to hear about your dad.  And your mom.  God Bless you
Brian S is in my prayers
TS wonderful news about David and Johnathon

My sister =- in -law Tommie is doing better.    My friend Carol is doing better.

Gerald is getting ready to undergo radiation for lung cancer.  Terminal.  He is in his mid 80's and has many health problems..  He and his wife adopted 2 twin girls at birth.  They are now 17.  My son is dating one of the girls, and they are really struggling with this.  They know this will more than likely be their last Christmas with their daddy.  They are so young to have to be going through this.  My son is going over Saturday to put their christmas lights and decorations up so they can have as good a Christmas as possible.  He told me this evening that he wanted to do that for them as a surprise, and I was just so proud of him.  He's going to take our lights over just in case they don't have everything.  I told him we didn't need the lights this year, and to light that house up bright.  God Bless them all.

God Bless all of you.

Peaches so glad that your platelet count is up.  Keep us updated.  You inspire me.

Glad to hear that Terryd is doing well to.

Snoopy, my BFF's brother, Merrill, got out of the hospital in good time.  He had less surgery than originally planned....I think a double bypass rather than a quadruple.  His health has been so up and down ever since I have known the family.  Merrill is feeling much better and is just holding out for a nice day to hit the golf course.  God is good all the time.

Thank y'all for praying for Merrill and for everyone's concerns here.

I'm remembering all the requests here in my prayers, and want to say thanks to those who give us updates on their friends and family.

I have two requests at the moment, both for single moms with 3 children each.

One mom is a former co-worker who had to leave work due to cancer. She is a wonderful person, only in her 30s, and we don't know if she will survive the cancer in her spine or not. She has very little money at this point, and we are trying to help her with donations from our staff.

A current co-worker, also a single mom with 3 children, is currently having severe money problems. Her 14-year-old son stole something and was placed into a group home, but the state is going to deduct $250.00 per month from her check because of what her son did. She has two other children at home, and is having a very difficult time providing for them. None of our staff are highly paid, and because we are trying to help out the mom with cancer, our resources are being strained as well. We are not able to give to both families all that we would like to give them.

Please pray that both of these families will get all the help they need, particularly during this special holiday season.

Thanks very much.

Just letting y'all know that Jake is still in ICU waiting for his new heart. He is getting restless as any 23 yr.old would after spending so much time in the hospital. He will not be able to leave the ICU until a donor is found. He has been bumped up to A1 on the list due to his age, excellent health and the fact that he cannot leave the ICU until he gets a new heart. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
