Thanks for the update cubbeegirl.  I've been wondering about Jake.  I pray he gets a donor soon, and that all goes well.  It's so bittersweet.  Give him a hug from all of us, and tell him that prayers from all over the world are going up for him.

Well, we thought it was a go again today, but it wasn't a good enough match so we wait a little longer.... this is our third heart that had to be rejected due to various reasons... please keep praying monkeys.
Jake is doing well, but getting more and more depressed as days go by . Add to that the fact that his risk for stroke, heart attack and infection gets higher the longer he is hooked up to the machines that are doing the work for his heart and you have one sick, depressed, and anxious 23 year old .....

Posted by Richard on the front page of SM:

I’m posting this here in hopes that Red or Klaasen might see fit to re-post it closer to the relevant date. Meanwhile, all Monkeys who are concerned with Natalee’s case might want to read:

In a newspaper column this morning, the director of a group called The Compassionate Friends solicited attention for her Web site, which I believe can be found by doing a search under that name.

At 7 pm local time every second Sunday in December (on Dec. 9 this year), a Worldwide Candle Lighting is held, “creating a 24-hour wave of light in rememberance of all children who have died, no matter their age or the cause of death. Also available that day at The Compassionate Friends website will be a remembrance book….”

The persons to whom this e-mail is sent either have experienced a tragedy in their own family or are united in seeking justice for other families. I do not know about this group, but wish to bring to your attention the fact that this group exists and that it offers this service.

Will lighting such candles bring justice for Natalee, or other missing persons? Nope; but I think it’s worthwhile for us to show in every possible way that we are not forgetting her case, and never will forget, and never will stop demanding that Aruba provide justice.

Naturally, we would not want to “desecrate” this forum or in any way show disrespect for any other missing persons. Grief knows no boundaries.

But we can light candles for one and all….

Please remind Jake that many people are praying for his new heart and his health.  God is right there with him and his family and all of us.  Send him a special hug from me.  Being in the hospital sucks big time.  I wish I could make him smile.  Send him a long distance grin from GA.  Cool

While keeping everyone in my prayers, I'd like to ask for you to include in your intentions a friend who is seriously ill.  He's had open heart and 2 or 3 forms of cancer, including leukemia in the past decade or so, plus diabetes.  He developed an infection which was treated with an antibiotic, but combined with his other meds & treatments caused him to go into some sort of shock or tremor.  He's now in an induced coma to keep stress on his heart and other organs at a minimum and the infection is now clearing.  His family is taking one positive thing at a time.  We want him to pull through, but he's had a tough battle with one thing after the next.  Just remember him and his family is all I can ask.  Thanks.

Louise, you are not alone, and prayers that you are lifted from your feelings of loneliness.

Jerry, added Diane to my list.  Hope she pulls through the injuries suffered in the accident.

Our friend Andy, previously unnamed in my post, is still in the induced coma.  We heard a couple days ago that the dialysis treatments for his kidneys is no longer being done 24/7, and he's slightly improving.  Not being well versed in medicine, it seems that the coma is helping them keep his vital organs under minimal stress while the cancer treatment is continued.  Hearing info 2nd hand, adds to this uncertainty.  Please keep him & his family in your prayers.

2NJ   Glad to hear that Andy has had some improvement.

Louise  I'm so sorry you feel so alone.  I think of you most everyday.  You're a special lady.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the
beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my
life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the
sand. Sometimes there were two sets of
footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that
during the low periods of my life, when I was
suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I
could see only one set of footprints, so I said
to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with
me always. But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life there has
only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not
been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have
seen only one set of footprints, my child, is
when I carried you.”

Mary Stevenson, 1936

You are never alone Louise.

Anna how is your friend doing?

Jerry    Diane continues to be in my prayers.

Angie  we're always here for you.

Prayers for all of you.

Prayers for TES, and the crew of the Persistence.

Prayers for our men and women serving in the Military.  That includes our Allies.  God Bless them all.  And their families.

Happy Hanukkah to Louise, Rob, and all my Jewish monkey buddies.

Merry Christmas.

Love and prayers to all of you.

I’ve seen the lightning flashing, I’ve heard the thunder roll.
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing, which almost conquered my soul.
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior, bidding me still to fight on.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

No, never alone, no never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
He’ll claim me for His own;
No, never alone, no never alone.
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

The world’s fierce winds are blowing, temptation sharp and keen.
I have a peace in knowing my Savior stands between—
He stands to shield me from danger when my friends are all gone.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

When in affliction’s valley I tread the road of care,
My Savior helps me carry the cross so heavy to bear;
Though all around me is darkness, earthly joys all flown;
My Savior whispers His promise, never to leave me alone!

Refrain

He died on Calvary’s mountain, for me they pierced His side.
For me He opened that fountain, the crimson, cleansing tide.
For me He waiteth in glory, seated upon His throne.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

Refrain
