Funeral service to be held for Birge

Family and friends will remember Jessica Birge at a memorial service near San Antonio Saturday.

The New Braunfels woman went missing on August 11. She was last seen leaving the Gruene Outpost River Lodge.

Her body and car were pulled from the Guadalupe River Tuesday. High water flows had previously kept searchers out of the river.

The car was located about two miles from where Birge was last seen.

The memorial service is being held at 11 a.m. at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel at 2217 FM 3009 in Schertz, northeast of San Antonio.
