In her book Beth Holloway reveals a lot about Paulus' behaviour from the moment Paulus was informed about a possible connection between a missing young American girl and his son Joran.

Two books on my desk. Two story lines to compare.

Anna, I agree with your assessment. They acted guilty from the very start. Paulus knew. Why would he have a cell phone in his hand when he came out if he didn't already know he would be calling Joran?

The cell phone couldn't have been to call the police, for instance, as they were the police.  It was to call Joran or vdStraten or his lawyer but most likely Joran.  Maybe even to warn him NOT to come home, depending on the intentions as he ascertained them.

I had telephone contact with Joran on May 29, 2005, this was around 11.00.

On your question about how the conversation went, I will tell you the following;
The conversation went that I asked him if he wanted to go out on my fathers boat.

He said that he could not go because he was going to play poker at the Holiday Inn. There is tournament each Sunday in aforementioned hotel and Joran participates almost each week in that tournament.

On your question what kind of boat my father has, I will explain to you the following:
 It is a speedboat, of the make "Sea Pro".

On your question if Joran had been on our boat before, I will explain to you the following:
Joran has never been on our boat and has also never with our dangers. (?)


Just wondering...if Sander took the boat out on Sunday...maybe it was docked somewhere still on Monday...easier access for PVDS when he needed to borrow it.  Maybe Joran told Paulus that he had been asked to go with Sander on the boat and told him no.  Paulus then could ask to borrow that same boat, that could still be docked nearby, without ever telling the Gottenbos for what purpose.  Only in the next day or so would they know why he borrowed it. The only thing they could say was that he borrowed the boat.  By the time ALE got around to checking it out (if it even happened at all) wasn't the boat sold to someone else?
