Clairton police have a mystery on their hands.

They issued an Amber Alert after two girls reported to an adult they saw a blue van at the intersection of 10th Street and Worthington Avenue with a young girl in the back with duct tape over her mouth.

"It was two children under the age of 13 believe they witnessed a child being abducted," Clairton Police Sgt. Joe Giles said.

Clairton police and other departments rushed into action looking for the van and every home in Clairton was called.

"Everybody in Clairton was given an electronic phone call with the basic information we have, [what] we're telling you, but no one's called saying their child's missing yet," Giles said.

They're looking for a light-skinned black female between ages six and 11. Her hair was braided with white beads.

She was reported being in a light blue older model box van with a white man in his 40s. He had brown hair and a long brown beard.

Thank you for the update, Nut.  Last time I had checked, the PA State Police still had the alert.  I couldn't find any updates to the story either, only another posting of the same information (nothing new/no updates)  on 8/17/10 on Modern Mom:

I know exactly what you mean Nut.  I can mark it "cancelled" in the subject line, but I guess just let it float on or move it to?
But most of all, what happened?
